We signed up for a registry and Bed Bath and Beyond and I received little cards from them today in the mail to include in my invitations but I heard that it's a tacky thing to do. I'm getting ready to start making my engagement party and wedding invitations and i'm teetering back and forth if i'm going to include them or not. I don't want it to come off like i'm asking for gifts but I have a lot of people i'm inviting that I don't talk to very frequently and I want word to get around quickly.

Re: Invitiation Etiquette question
Yes, but much closer to the wedding. I'm still 15 months out. I want to keep engagement gifts and wedding gifts as far apart as possible.

Invitiation Etiquette question
Well we didn't register for our engagement party, but when RSVP'ing, a lot of people asked my mom if we were registered, so maybe have whoever is take the RSVPs tell them? We got mostly cash anyway, so you could always get what you want with the money afterward.

Invitiation Etiquette question
We put registry cards in our e party invites bc people had been asking where we were registered. We also got a few gifts before we registered that we will never ever use or have any use for.
I'll also put registry cards in my shower invites, but not in the actual wedding invites.

Actual etiquette says you shouldnt put them in your wedding invitations, registry I formation should be spread by word of mouth. I say if you want to include them do it.

Invitiation Etiquette question
I would not put them in the engagement party invites. Personally I feel its asking for gifts. If someone wants to buy you a gift they will ask you or a family memeber if you are registered. Save those cards for your shower.

I agree. I think it's good to have whoever is hosting your shower include the registry and I think it's ok to have your registries listed on your website, but not included in the actual invitations.

I agree with this completely! A lot of people register before the engagement party and put that information on a wedding website. That way when people do ask, you can point them in that direction!

This! except we did register first and got a lot of stuff off the registry! (and gift cards to our places)
ETA- definitely put them in your shower invites and NOT in your wedding invites

Personally, I don't like that stuff... ever. People who don't know will ask you or family where you are registered, you can even google that stuff! Once your registery is up it comes up as a 'google' result in the search for your name. You can also put it on your wedding website.

I plan on giving the cards to my MOH for the bridal shower. You are not supposed to put in in the e-party invites and definitely not the wedding invites. I included our wedding website in the e-party invites and the std magnets so they were able to get registry information from there.
