Invitiation on the half hour

Invitiation on the half hour

Should we say:

at one-thirty in the afternoon

half past one o'clock

half after one o'clock???

so confusing. I think the etiquette is to say half AFTER one o'clock but it sounds weird to me.

instead of using one-thirty in the afternoon? is that too informal? so confusing.

Half past is the correct way to write it on a written invitation.

Re: Invitiation on the half hour

our invitations said

'at half-past eleven in the morning'

I like that better than o'clock.
