Inviting bosses...??

I'm getting ready to send out my invites, so I have to decide once and for all if I should invite my boss. I've read so many post about this, but my situtuation is a little different......I live and work in Buffalo, and obviously the wedding is on LI. I've been in the same office for 5 years, so it's not a matter of not knowing my boss. I'm afraid that my boss may feel obligated to attend, and I'm afraid to make others in the office feel bad....

Well I can understand how you feel. I f you are close with then I would say definitely invite them and in a later conversation explain there is no obligation and that you understand that because it is far away. I'm sure if they were feeling obligated that would put them at ease. And who knows they may like the getaway

Personally I have no interest in hanging out with my bosses in any social situation -- especially my wedding. I decided I would not invite anyone from my office -- that way I treat everyone equally. The problems usually come if you invite one & not the other... my wedding will be about 100 people and it's for close friends & family only. If your guest list is 400+ and includes your father's-brother's-friend's-son then having your co-worker there wouldn't be such a big deal

I knew my boss as a coworker first...but he is such a kind man...best person I ever worked for...I invited him (but not people above him)


here is what I think about your situation...if the wedding is 8 hours away...most probably WON'T come...I would say...INVITE EVERYONE!!!
