Inviting Co-workers?

Inviting Co-workers?

I'm not sure how many, if any, co-workers to invite to the wedding. Because if I invite one , then I feel like I have to invite other people in case they feel left out. Any advice?

And is it ok to invite some people to just the bridal shower and not the wedding?

No, you should not invite people to the shower who aren't invited to the wedding - that's rude.

You have no obligation to invite coworkers if you don't want to. I'm not sure who I am inviting from work - probably just a few people I'm close with.

ETA - I also don't think it's really appropriate to invite people from work to the shower, even if they are invited to the wedding. The only exception would be if you also happen to be very good friends with them outside of work. Showers are for family and very close friends.

I was in the same situation, I felt I couldn't just invite one. So I sucked it up and invited the whole office. My office has 13 people, not large enough to exclude people but not that small either. If your office is small I would invite all if you were planning to invite at least half of your co-workers. If you are inviting just one or two then you should be fine. I was planning on inviting 7 so 5 more couples wasn't that big of a deal, and I wouln't have to face any uncomfortable people.

FH and I work with a lot of the same people, that's how we met, and we're friends with many of them outside of work, so we have a lot of co-workers invited.

I dont think it's right to invite people to the bridal shower if you're not planning to have them at the wedding. I had that happen to me once, and I was not too happy! I think if you let your co-workers know you're having a small wedding, they will understand. I invited co-workers, but only those that I am close with.

I'm stuck in the same situation. What's worse is that there's a ton of office politics, so if I invite one and not the other, word would get around. So i'm planning not to invite anyone.

It'll be uneasy to invite for a shower and not the wedding...

I work in a salon w/29 girls. I invited all the girls who are married/serious BF's to my engagement party.singles were invited w/out guest (I kind of have a huge mouth and talk to everybody so I would feel uncomfortable not inviting them) all the other girls that have gotten married didin't invite all. So for the shower they're all coming and for the wedding same thing goes hubby's and serious BF's. oooofffff it's around 48 people just from my job but I've been there for 11 yrs. so they're like family.

Co-Workers were a touchy part. I did invite the few I am closer with along with my bosses and their wives. Fortunately 2 bosses cant make it. If anyone asked in the office I just apologized and said I would love to have everyone there but we are limited becasue of space. I think everone understood. What makes it touchy is that I am the office manager, so I didnt want to play favorites with my girls. I have an office of 25 and invited 3 that i eat lunch with every day. There was definately one woman who probabky expected to be invited but she'll get over it!

Fh and I work together so we have to invite co workers. It makes it easier because everyone knows eachother.

I placed a invitation and the memo board in the office. Mine is open to who wants to attend.

It's such a tough decision!! I am a teacher and if I invite one then I'd have to invite them all. I have three aides in my room and only one hinted (and assumes) that she will be invited. Everyday she makes some remark about the wedding and then even had the nerve to say well if you dont want alot of people from work to come just invite them and not their spouses.... if I were invited I wouldn't bring my husband.... ( some nerve, right?) So I don't think I am going to invite them. They are more than welcome to go to the church but that's it. It's up to you.... invite a few, none, or all.

My co-workers said they would be throwing me a shower. I really don't want them to because I won't be inviting most of them anyway. I have about 5 I will invite. Plus you would have to account for their significant others too. Argghhh!
