Inviting Co-workers???

There are a couple of people that I am inviting from my job of course my little 'gossip crew' but there is one girl that only works in the office 2x a week but when she is here she is always asking how the planning is going. We talk about the wedding but thats really it . She is close to one of the girls in my 'gossip crew' ...Do I invite her??

If it's just one more person, then I would say yes. That's what I did. I am friends with 3 girls from work. We don't work together but we socialize together. About 6 months ago, a new girl joined their group. I hang out with the new girl when I see the other 3 girls but I don't know her all too well. I felt it would be an obvious exclusion if I didn't invite her and it would make socializing awkward, so I invited her. I didn't invite her with a guest, since I sat her with her 3 coworkers.

I think if she only works there 2x's a week it's not necessary unless you want her there

It's completely up to you, but if it would strain your working relationship after you get married... then I would think the little bit of extra money would be worth it.

ITA, you can get really carried away with the guest list like this!

Would you feel awkward working with her after the wedding if you didn't invite her? If so, then I say just invite her. One more doesn't make too much a difference. Good luck

I think that if she is now in your group of work friends that you should just invite her. I wouldn't want an awkward situation at work.

SInce she only works there 2x a week I say it all up to you.. you may feel weird if you dont.. esp when everyone else is going and she does socialize with the 'gossip group'

I agree... however will this lead to other people being upset who have worked there longer? FH and I work together and we were concerned about this so we only invited a small group (2/3 ppl) we are very close with... once we ventured outside these ppl it became scary due to the 'groups' and associations due to time etc...

Do you guys think it would be rude to invite a co-worker that you kind of have to invite w/out a guest??

I have a few work friends that I am close to that have boyfriends, that I would say ok to invite a guest.

Then there a few people in my department that I kind of have to invite but would it be rude to invite them alone w/out a guest?

If you want her there, go ahead and invite her!
With regards to alone or with a guest, I think it's best to invite people with a guest if they are married or in a serious relationship. Otherwise, for those singles or newly dating, they can come solo.

I would look at it this way: Would you expect to be invited to her wedding? If the answer is yes, then invite her. If not, then I dont see a reason to invite her!
