Inviting co-workers

Inviting co-workers

I know this has been asked a million times but I'm torn on what to do. At my job we work in teams on the different accounts. There are 10 people on my team plus my boss. There are 2, maybe 3 people that I definitely want to invite. Is it an all or nothing deal or would it be ok to just invite a select few (mind you, 4 of them are men and I don't think they would come anyway)?

I've gone back and forth with this, too. I'm inviting all the people from my dept. since we're a small dept. anyway, but I'm close with a few of the guys in IT or scanning but I feel badly inviting some and not all. It doesn't help the fact that some ASSUME they are invited. So, I'm basically in the same boat as you.

Fh, on the other hand, works for a small company but he's not inviting everyone. So, it doesn't have to be an all or nothing thing! HTH!

I work in a department of 6 people (me being one of them). One is in the BP I am inviting 3 others and leaving out one because she is an awful miserable bi-atch. I figure it's my wedding and the people who are there should be there because I want them to be not because I 'have' to.

i invited who i wanted from work, i didn't care if someone's feelings got hurt, bc the bottom line is i'm inviting the people i'm close with.

Same thing with my FH. He's a doorman in the city and is only close to 1 guy so he doesn't care, he's only inviting the one guy.

I have 110 people in my office so obviously can't invite everyone but I am inviting only my management team (10 ppl plus spouses/guest).

Small group at my office, but 14 turns to 24. Luckily, my co-worker is getting married the same day. Hoping ppl feel bad declining for one and do so for both. Otherwise, my close friend introduced me to the job and is in my BP... so obviously she's IN... and I would extend the invite to my boss. That's it... without risking offending anyone else.

I work in a small private school and I really get along with everyone. It would really be hard for me to pick and choose between so many of them. I am inviting my principal and 2 teachers that I am very close with plus 3 girls I used to work with. It's pretty tough, but you just cant invite everyone.

I'm going to see where I'm working when I send out invites. I'm not sure if I'll still be at the same job. I'm DEF inviting one girl no matter what.

If I'm still at the job, there's b/t 5-7 others that I would like to invite, but we'll have to see.

i think if you invite some just make sure your not leaving out like only 1 or 2 people otherwise i feel like u might as well invite all.... im just doing all of them we're actually all pretty close with the exception of like 2 or 3 out of the 15 so i just stuck them in there anyway

You invite who you want. I'm not inviting anyone from my job. I'm not close with anyone I work with so would actually feel akward inviting them in my case.

Yeah, i'm having the same problem... there are 2 girls i decided i was definetly inviting - but they know not to tell anyone else that they're invited. Still deciding on the others though... i think i'll prob just stick to the first two (and tell everyone i decided not to invite work people?)

i work in a small department of 5 people so i am inviting everyone..... i just dont know if i should include them on my bridal shower list... are you inviting coworkers to your shower? i think my mother who is throwing it would like to keep it small and just invite family and close friends but i dont know if the coworkers would be offended..

I know you're supposed to invite the boss, but I have a supervisor (not inviting), boss (don't really want to invite), her boss (would be okay with inviting) and her boss (I guess I should send an invite).

I see these people on a daily basis, but I just feel like I wouldn't be comfortable having any of them at my wedding. I feel like the way I act in the office is not representative of the way I'm going to be at my wedding, so I don't want them to see the fun and crazy me.

Then, I have 3 coworkers that I really like and want to invite! Maybe I won't be at this job by the time the wedding comes and I won't have to worry about it. Otherwise I'm thinking about not inviting anyone.

I can understand that.

That's a tough one. I invited half my office (15ppl)to my e-party. I did'nt invite the men because I figured they dont mind or care if I do, women tend to be more interested. Most showed up and a couple never even acknowledged the invite while some didnt bother to show up or call. Needless to say, those people have been moved to my 'B' list and a couple will be written off.

I'm doing the same. I work in a school so if I talk to you outside of school you're invited. There are only 3 that I'm inviting.

I am not inviting ANY co-workers. This way it will just be close friends and family.
