Guys, what's your take on inviting co workers? Is there a proper etiquette that I need to follow? I want to invite some co workers but I don't want my other co workers to be offended. I also have a particular one that expects to be invited but I'm not really sure if I want her there... What do you guys think?

i'm only inviting 2 and am going to ask them to be discrete. it's your wedding, you should only invite those that you want there.

Re: Inviting Co workers
I plan on inviting about 5 coworkers plus dates and most people at work know I got engaged. If you don't think it will cause conflict then I say don't invite her but if you think it will just cause drama and make work life miserable after than it might be worth it to invite the extra person but don't allow her to bring a date, maybe then she'd say no!

I don't plan on inviting any co-workers. My wedding is OOT and I can't see any of my co-workers coming.

I'm having a similar conflict .. I've worked at my job for 9 years so I've developed relationships with people that I still keep in contact with but no longer work directly with. I am definitely going to invite the two coworkers who I work with directly, and had the others on the list as maybe. One of the maybe coworkers called me today and was like oh I heard you set a date and I said yea November 9th, and she said gotcha putting in on my calendar ... Now WTH do I do?!

I am only inviting a few co-workers. There is one person that thinks they will be invited, but I just don't say anything. It's just going to pass and they will forget about it. I don't care about those people that I didn't invite or what they think of me. Just invite who matters to you.

Re: Inviting Co workers
Luckily I work in an office of 8 people!!!!!!! and I love them all :) SO they are soooooo excited to come to my wedding. At first, I told them that because we are having destination wedding (Massachusetts) it was going to be really small and not to get offended if I didn't invite them. I realized after meeting with the vendors that i could not think about getting married without them all there :) I cannot imagine if i worked in a small office and had to worry about feeling bad about not inviting certain people.
We are actually all going dress shopping during lunch next Friday. My boss is leaving our bookkeeper to take care of the office!!

I'm so torn. I have only been there for a year but plan to be there for a while. What's the etiquette here? Do we need to invite our boss? (I actually really like her, but then I feel like I need to invite the rest of my department so was going to just not invite any). We were trying to keep it small. Plus I'm not sure how I feel about them seeing me drinking and dancing my butt off on the dance floor. lol. But part of me feels like I should. Thoughts?

Re: Inviting Co workers
I have been on my job for 8 years, I am inviting a few that Iam very close with...meaning we hang outside of the job and go to each other events. There are some from another department that are on my b-list. hopefully I will be able to invite them, if not...oh well they can see the pics when I get back.
Many people have been getting married at my job, and just did not invite anyone due to money. Sometimes it is the best way to go.

Re: Inviting Co workers
I'm inviting only one co-worker, and everyone understands that we're really close so it isn't a big deal or something that I'm uncomfortable with other knowing. If anyone feels hurt, then maybe he/she should think about why they're not invited.

Re: Inviting Co workers
This was a hard decision for me. I have worked at my firm for 9 years and I have no intention of going anywhere!
The other problem is there are about 20 bosses. I do not work directly with all of them but they are all of my bosses.
I knew that I could not invite everyone (that would be 40 people not counting anyone on my level). I decided that I am only inviting the people that I work with on a day to day basis, I am sure I am going to piss someone off but I can not worry about that!

FH and I are inviting 2 co-workers each, plus their guests. That's it. He is a teacher and doesnt really associate with anyone from work outside of work, and the same goes for me in a corporate setting. If I added even one more person from my dept, it would mean adding about 10 plus guests. Sorry, not doing it.

Re: Inviting Co workers
im lucky that i only work with 4 other girls that i love, but my FH is a court officer and works with ALOT of poeple along with his softball team so we are trying to narrow down his list.
its all gonna just come down to, these are the people we are invitng and anyone who doesnt like it, oh well. as much as we would love to invite them we cant and they need to just get over it. i put the whole coworker issue up there with the +1 issue. you gotta do what you can afford, its not like your in the 3rd grade and inviting everyone in the class but the one weird kid lol these are all adults and should understand.

Re: Inviting Co workers
I'm not sure if I am. There are a couple people I'm close with who I know would love to come. But I feel like if I invite a couple I have to invite an entire team. We'll see what happens when the invites go out! I know FH has a couple people at his office he'll invite and it won't hurt anyone else's feelings.
