Soon to be and past brides, when you were first putting together your invite lists did anyone feel like they didn't have enough of people to invite?
I had today off from work so I sat down and started to compile a real list of people I would want to invite, A list and B list and the total of the two lists combined right now is 136, 15 of which are on the B list.
That leaves 121 definite invites, but out of those 121, at least 20 are probably 'no shows.'
that leaves me with 100 guests and my minimum is 120!
Did anyone else have this problem when they wrote their first serious guest list?

Irish, I have the same problem as you, just sent my invites and realize I have 131 adults, 133 if you count FH and me! Kids don't count!
And we are supposed to guarantee 100 min! With 25-30% 'no's' that means we may be under!
You may need to invite 170-180 to make the 120 min.
We are quite worried, we don't wanna invite people we just met and definitely not people web barely know. So I understand completely! You have a valid reason to be nervous about this.
Talk to your hall and see what they can do. Maybe assign you a smaller room?

Re: Inviting guests. . .
i think i will have the same problem , Fh and i originally wanted only 100 people but when we saw JT we fell in love with the bigger room even though it had a 150 person minimum - so now we have to fill that up, and i only want to invite the people i really WANT there. . .
BUT i just read on another post ( i wish i could remember which one out of the 3 million i read today) that a bride couldnt reach her minimum so they upgraded her package (chair covers etc.) so i would be happy with that too!

From an 08 girl who hasn't booked a hall, and is already scared of meeting a minimum....i say you are on the right track and realize that there are people you forgot and/or are going to become closer with by the time the wedding and sending out invites comes around...don't sweat it now..wait a few months...you know us 08 girls are going to talk tons more...and things will change over the next year and a half...so as i tell myself...one step at a time and you will be fine!!

The good thing is that you have a while to go and you most likely will come across more people who would love to be at your wedding as the date comes closer. It is nice because it is not one of these things you have to have done right away, like so many other things. And you are lucky because you don't have to worry about hurting anyone's feelings by cutting them down!

I wish I had that problem after we wrote our list we guaranteed 145 and then after we realized we forgot some...want to have some of my guests? (j/k) plus some of my family will not be attending so FH said once they are off the list he has people that he wanted to invite but didnt want to be a pig about the list....

My sister is having that problem. She still has 2 years though, and it is very possible that she will make new friends. She is at a new job & is just starting to become friendly with them. She has about 75 people now, which is the minimum she chose, but she can have up to 110 in her room.

So just invite all the people on both lists. I am sure between now and the time you are ready for invites there will be more people you invite- you'd be surprised when after asking your parents and his family how many people you are missing.

At first I didn't think I had many and I was really concerned and then when it came time to get my final address list together for the invites it ballooned up to much higher than I had expected. I was none too thrilled.
