Inviting Officiant?

Inviting Officiant?

I know there are certain people you provide meals for, but is anyone actually sending their officiant an invitation? She is someone I just met when i booked her - not someone I have known, but I think she is great!

I think it's a friendly gesture since they are the one marrying you. Who knows, they may have a affair to attend after yours. I think you should JMO

I did invite my pastor as well as her husband because we have become friends although she did decline to stay.

We did not.
DH was adimant about this. He felt we already paid her enough and to pay another $100+ for her to eat was out of the question.
That said she went to our cocktail hour to eat and she seemed fine with that because when we saw her we felt awkward and offered for her to stay for dinner since we had a couple of open seats but she said she had other plans.

I was wondering whether to invite my pastor.
We've spoken to him a couple of times (we still don't know his wife), but he seems to be quite conservative, so I don't know if he'll attend if we invite him. I'll keep him in the B-list or something...

we invited April and her husband Chris
you will love working with her she is absolutely fantastic and is available to you whenever you need to talk - i bent her ear many a day during the planning and i still talk to her occasionally in fact we are having lunch to look at photos

Since my officiant is also my cousin, she will be there either way, but I would have given her an invitation just out of courtesy.

I am so excited to have found her!!! We met with her last night for the first time and she had me almost in tears twice. She is amazing and I feel like now my wedding will be complete. Glad to hear you had a such a great experience with her. I am thinking I will invite her too. I can already tell we will be in close contact between now and the wedding!

I am inviting mine, but he is my FH's minister, and they know him quite well. It seems best also since he is performing the most important service of the wedding (though the importance of the officiant tends to get lost with all the other stuff).

i don't think we are inviting our Pastor we just met him when we booked the church and we are already paying him alot of money and to pay for another 100 dollars at the reception I don't think so

Priest marrying us has known me since i was 7 or 8. He goes to all of our parties...graduation and all...so yes, he will be invited

Re: Inviting Officiant?

we found our Pastor through a church out east, but have grown to really respect and like her. She is putting in so much work for very little pay - and we definitly want her and her husband to stay and celebrate.

I think it really depends on your situation.
