Is anyone doing this? How are you doing it? I have students I want to invite but I don't think its appropriate for them to come to the wedding but it would be nice to see them at the ceremony.
Also our ceremony is going to be quite short. Do you think that I shouldn't then?
TIA

Re: Inviting people to ceremony
I'm having the same issue...
I work in a school-type place with almost 100 staff members, but I talk to almost every single one of them on a regular basis since I'm the Office Manager.
I'm really tempted to invite all of them to just the church, since obviously I can't invite them all to the reception but I don't know if that's tacky or not.
And even if it is I might do it anyway.

Re: Inviting people to ceremony
I was thinking about the same thing. FH is a coach and we are pretty close with his wrestlers and they want to come to the wedding. I was thinking of having them come to the ceremony but not the reception...

Re: Inviting people to ceremony
I haven't specifically invited people to just the ceremony, but some of my close childhood friends have mentioned that their parents would like to come to the church. I told them they are MORE than welcome, and I made a mental note that if I get last minute cancelations for the reception they might be happy (and not offended) to fill the empty seats.

Re: Inviting people to ceremony
How old are your students? If their parents have to drive them, it might be a hassle if it's such a short ceremony. Maybe send a letter/kid invite home to the parents and explain the situation?

Re: Inviting people to ceremony
I think students parents expect them only to be invited to the ceremony. Just type up a cute invite with exact times so it's up to the parents if they want to bring them.
