How many of you invited people you really didn't want to? Like work associates or something.

i voted yes, because my fmil has a billion friends- but the upside is that she will pay for them! i guess a lot of times we have to invite people we really don't want to! like my lame-@#$ cousin who NEVER goes to anything anyway!

I had to invite my grandparents' old, grumpy friends. They're paying for it so I couldn't say no

we had to invite his aunt and husband and kids even though we didnt want to. my mother wanted us to be the bigger people, and for everyone to look at me as the perfect bride, rather than talk about me at my own wedding.

This is a truly interesting question. There are people I do not want to invite (KIDS), that FH is insisting we invite. He keeps saying so and so won't come if we don't also invite the kids. My feeling is that so and so can then stay home.
As for parents, neither side is asking us to include people we wouldn't have chosen to invite ourselves. (thank goodness)
I am on the fence about my immediate supervisor. I feel like I have to invite her (she's been my supervisor for 7 years), but I don't really want to because she has no sense of manners whatsoever!! She wears really really inappropriate (for her age) short skirts and then sits with her legs WIDE open, giving the entire world a first class (or second class depending on how you look at it - or try to avoid it) view. She chews with her mouth open, often wears her food while eating, and licks her fingers. UGH!!!!! The problem is how on earth can I include anyone else from work and then exclude her?????

OH YES!!!!! It's a big problem with the family. FH's cousins (young) are very destructive and the parents don't watch them. The mom basically told us not to invite her kids. She wants us to be the bad guys. We invited them and pray they don't come.
