involvement ?

i am so sick of hearing DH complain about his job and his csing boss (i used to work for his boss so i sympathize with him whole heartedly) - so much so that i found myself searching careerbuilder for him!! and than i realized that this is a little demented that i am looking for a job for a grown man!! i would never expect someone to look for a job listing for me if i was unhappy in my job!!

am i being helpful to him? or acting crazy?

what do you think....would you look for a job for your husband??

Does he know you're looking for a new job for him? I look for DH all the time. But he wants me to - he can't surf at work.

yes he knows - but its not like he asked me to do it. so that is where i wonder if i am being overbearing.

like he just called me ranting for 15 mins - and he is going on and on and i am on careerbuilder going - well blah blah is hiring - wonder if the have a car allowance???

i am not sure if i am helpful or if thats my strong personality. i have always been one of those 'hungry' employees that no matter how happy i am in my currently job - i am always looking to see whats better, or more money, or better connections.

I look for DH all the time. The last interview he went on was a job I found for him. I think you are being helpful and not crazy!

IMHO: That's something he should do - while it's nice to suggest things to him, he should be the one looking for another position.

DH was the same way about his job, but eventually found something he loves on his own. Putting the effort to find something and then snag the job is very rewarding.

see - i agree with you 100% - that is why i feel weird. but what did you do? just listen to him p!ss and moan everyday until he finally did it on his own??

i am so tired of being supportive - when i have been singing this song for a long time now.

Re: involvement ?

My MIL thought my first job in NY wasn't good enough [hey, I hadn't worked in a while and I was super entry-level at the time...it was a good stepping stone]...she would leave the want ads open with jobs circled, harass [not really] me for my resume so she could give it out to someone [meanwhile i'm htinking, if this person really can hook me up, i'd rather use that favor when it can really work for me] and it ticked me off.

DH would send me jobs as well.

It got insulting after a while.

I think it's helpful.

Kevin and I work together so he understands my venting and can see how unhappy I am. He's been looking on career builder for me. I appreciate it. He sends me some and then if I'm interested I'll proceed.

If you're just searching for him that's fine, but if you're then also contacting them and applying for him then that's a bit creepy.

Ricky is the type of person that wants to whine until someone gives him a hug....I stated to him, 'No one can change your situation but you. Whining does nothing -if you want out so badly, you would be on the computer looking for another job.' I'm not cruel, but I am real with him....I did do his resume for him though....but to actually apply for jobs for him - no way.
