Irish Brides

Anyone having a bagpiper at the church?

I did...It added a really nice touch. he played outside as people were coming in and out of the church. He also led us in as we made our entrance at the reception.

It was a good friend of mine so it was extra special!

Have you seen the Irish brides thread? Do a search? A lot of us have posted ideas there.

I was wondering the same thing since we have a friend playing and is refusing $$$ from us. I think I will have someone slip him some $$$ at the reception. I have no idea how much to give???

If he is a close friend...i am sure he doesn't wnt to be paid. perhaps a thoughtful gift instead? I 've sung at the weddings for friends and I didn't accept payment because I wanted to do it for them... he probably feels similarly.

A close friend of mine played for my wedding. He also refused money. However, I invited him to my rehearsal dinner. I also gave him a gift (2 books of sheet music for bagpipes...he loved it)

I hired a piper to play at the church. He will play as guests are arriving and also after we say our I dos. He will stick around for a while when we are taking pictures. I thought that would be nice.

Hi. I bought the CD in Ireland. The name of the CD is The irish Wedding Album. Are there any Irish stores near you? Try calling the Stewart Manor Gift Shop. They might be able to order it for you. I will look online as well. Take care
