I'm starting to look at hotel rooms for my guests and figured the easiest is the Inn at Great Neck. Well they just responded with the quote of $179. IMO that's a lot. I'm going to keep looking but do you of any other places (my church is in Flushing and my reception is at Leonards). Also we checked the Ramada on Northern Blvd and the lobby smelled, so my FMIL vetoed that one. Thanks, Donna

Re: Is $179 too much for a hotel room?
I think that is a lot for guests. We paid something like that for a bridal suite.

Re: Is $179 too much for a hotel room?
I got a block of rooms at $149 per night. I know that it's a decent price for LI but some of my out of towners may think it is a little high. I did price out a bunch of places in the area. This was by far the best price got. It's LI, not a cheap place! We just got a wedding invitation for a wedding in CT, the hotel was $80 a night!!! We origianlly weren't going to stay over night for this wedding but for only $80......why not! Imagine finding a nice hotel on LI for $80??? I wish!

I wouldn't pay that for a hotel room, especially at a no name hotel.
Try the JFK Airport Hotel (formerly the Sheraton (when we booked it, it was a Sheraton), soon to be Crowne Plaza). We got a rate of $109/nite, free parking for the duration of our guests stay, a free shuttle ride to/from JFK Airport & we get the HM suite for FREE the nite of our wedding!
I know another bride who used the the Marriott Courtyard at LaGuardia. Her rate was either $95 or $99/nite for her guests & they all got a free continental breakfast the next day.

I've never been inside but I know the Anchor Inn was renovated a few years ago. It's on Northern across the street from the Ramada and Adria.

hmmm...I might be in the minority, but I don't think it's all that much. Our rooms at the Harrison House were $160 and I thought that was pretty good for the quality of the place we were staying. You could try the Howard Johnson in Westbury, they were $129. I blocked rooms there too so people would have a cheaper option (nobody chose to stay there, they all chose the Harrison House). All of these were in the end of July, so I don't know if rates would be lower or more this time of year. Good luck!

Try the Extended Stay on the Whitestone Expwy. I had to stay there 2 weeks while I had renovations done on my house. I think it was 85 a night and 620 for the week.
