is 2.5 months too early
to send out invites? Wedding is May 25, and I thought about sending them out on monday, March 10. That would be about 2 months and 2 weeks ahead of time. RSVP is April 25.My mom said to send them out the last week of March because she thinks that if I send them to early then people will forget to RSVP. She said that she thinks the longer it sits in their houses the more likely they will forget out it..
thoughts?

I think it's fine to send them out a little earlier. I think regardless, there are certain people who like to wait until the last minute to send back their responses.

So then I think sending them out between March 10-20th would be fine.
Regardless of how long it sits on someones fridge or counter... there are two types of people in this world: they either send out RSVPs right away... or wait until last minute.

I heard anywhere from 2-3 months ahead is the norm so I think 2.5 is perfect!

Heck we sent ours out around the 18th of last month. We are giving our guests over a month to rsvp, and if any can't make it we are immediately sending out invites to our B-list guests. The B-list guests can rsvp by the beginning of April and that will give us plenty of time to get the final number to the venue.
Keep in mind many guests see the rsvp BY _______ date as the Mail by date. You should pad your expected response date by at least a week or else you may have a lot of people to call just to get the info for your venue.
Good Luck.

We have a ton of OOT guests, and also want people to be able to plan ahead of time since it's during peak Hamptons season and our wedding is in the morning, so we actually just sent our invites out this weekend. It's exactly 3 months from our wedding. And our RSVP date is one month from now. I decided I don't care about the etiquette rules, I'm going to do what I want to have peace of mind.

I don't think 2.5 is too early. I just got my friends invite in the mail yesterday. Her wedding is May 10th.

I agree - that's why the earlier the better if it makes things any easier for you.
