Is $250 too much for hair when it INCLUDES day of AND the trial?
i saw a few places that were 150 day of and 70 for trial so its almost the same price. am i crazy or can i find it way cheaper?

When you consider that the price of the trial is included, it may be a little on the high end of average, but not by much.

i think hair/make up and photogs are THE MOST important vendors. what good is it if u look like shyt on ur wedding day, ya kno?
250 is a lot if some1 sx.. but 250 is great if the person is amazing..KWIM?
ita i thought i was the only one who felt like that
Noooo, mee too! I keep saying to FH...I dont care what hair and makeup costs. I am going to feel amazing that day no matter what!
This isnt to say though that some girls find hair and makeup people who are less expensive and perfectly happy. I personally think that 250 is not bad though in the first place.

You can def find cheaper...but will they be as good for you? Everyone has diff hair and preference for the day of hair style. I would think the price would include two trials, but even so...its pretty average price. try to negotiate and ask for a 2nd trial.

No. Mine was $60 for trial and $100 for hair day of and $100 hair day of. $250 for all iss normal. I think.

I don't think it's too much. It's definitely on the high side, but not too much. My only issue with that is what if you don't like the trial? Are you then still forced to pay $250? Or can you just pay say $100 and be done with it? You definitely don't want something you're stuck with if you don't like the results.

Re: Is $250 too much?
My make up trial was 65 and day of is 150 bc she is coming to me. But day of is only 75 if i do it in the salon. So factor that in as well- whether the stylist is coming to you and will therefore factor in travel time.
As for hair my local salon told me 65-85 for day of-- not sure how much the trial is, if it will cost anything at all. BUt i have searched some other popular wedding stylists for hair and their prices are about 200 for day of, and 65 or so for trials... I think what someone said about add the word 'wedding' and cost goes up, is right. Then again-- they probably do have more experience.. not always but likely that they provide more consistent service since they do it all the time.
P.S. Do hair and make up trials involve only doing one look/application or does the make up artists for example do your make up several times with different color palettes to decide which one works best for you during one trial?
I am still undecided on hair and make up-- I think that the girls are right-- you really need to LOVE how you look the day of it is one of the most important aspects of the day esp since your photos will be forever... BUt how much does one want to spend on doing trials with different artists to find the PERFECT one? That is what I have been having difficulty with? I really liked my make up trial alot but wasnt 'in love' ... do i keep shelling out bucks for more trial??

Re: Is $250 too much?
Trials are usually $50 each which means that day of hair would be $200...IMO it's a little high but not astronimical...if you love your hair during the trial then I think it's worth it!! My concern would be what happens if you don;t like the trial and don't book the person. Do you have to pay for the trial and day of together upfront? I would try to see if you can get the cost of the trial separate from the day of in case you don't book the person

Not sure about your first q. I would ask the makeup artist before you book a trial. For ex, one hairstylist told me that she would keep doing my hair as many times as I wanted (her exact words were: 'We don't stop until you are happy.'). I would also look at your past makeup trial pics before you go on your next trial...what did you not like,/like about it and what would you change? For ex, on one of my makeup trials I looked at the pics and thought I needed more drama (lol). A darker lipstick color and more dramatic eyes...so I knew the next time I went for a trial what to ask for. I also was able to look at some pics the makeup artist had to get ideas for my eyes. Bring some pics from mags and a friend who can give an objective opinion too
