Its nice to end the night a little early for the older guests...and then you can set up something for afterwards and it won't be too late for people to go...I think its really a perfect time...

We hada 5pm cocktail and 6pm reception. Our church was at 2:30 so I didn't want to have a huge gap. It worked perfectly...and everyone went back to the hotel bar and partied all night!

My reception is from 5 to 6 on Sunday. Labor Day is the next day so it's almost as if it were a Saturday. I actually think it's a perfect time. I am assuming your reception is from 6 to 10? That's what mine is and I am quite happy.

I really want a six hour wedding, so it would be from 5:00 to 11:00. This would be at the Brideview Yacht Club. We are allso looking at Chateau La Mer. That would be 7:00 to 1:00. The both times have an advantage

Between the two, I would go with 5 - 11. It will be easier on some of your guests to end earlier after a great party and still early enough for an after party. (JMHO)
