Mine would be $120, but $75 seems a bit pricey for bridesmaid updo's. I have girls from out of town, so they would have to get their hair done by the same person I choose, but that seems pretty steep.

IMO, $75 may not seem like a lot to us brides who are already paying through the nose for everything. But in 'real life', we're asking our girls to buy a dress, shoes, purse, to throw us a shower, bachlorette party, wedding gift... and honestly, you ca go to just about any salon and have an updo for less than $75.
That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. $75 might be the cheapest thing for my entire wedding, but since it's my wedding and not theirs, I feel awkward that it's so high. But I want someone to come to me. Do you think it would be weird having a stylist for me and a different (less expensive) one for them?

i'm in a party for an august wedding, and we just found out it will be $60 for an up-do...maybe less if enough of us have it done.

That's what my BM are paying. Actually, I'm paying for the BMs that are coming from out of state. It's the least I can do!

I think you could get a better deal, personally. Anything with 'wedding' attached to it will jump the price up. Remember to you the bride 75 may seem fair, but to the bm it could be a bit much.

The hair salon I am using is coming to me the morning of the wedding and charging $100 per Updo...I am thinking of also getting my bridesmaids a gift certificate so the price won't be so high!

That seems to be about average, but do they even want updos? They may not want to pay the $ at all and choose not to do an updo. I don't think I would ask my BM to spend another $75 for hair if they didn't want to, JMO.

I used the Hair Genie too and no I dont think $75 is a lot. My 3 friends are from way upstate and they didnt complain about the prices.

Maybe you can call a school (cosmetology ) or boces and see if they have students that will do it for cheaper? You may not get much lower unless they go to a salon. And.. it is do-able for them to go to a salon since your wedding starts at 3.

$75 is average for stylists that come to you, I think finding a salon for the BMs to go might be your best bet, most charge about $40-50.

IMO, in the scheme of things - just for the convenience of having the hair stylist come to your house, it is so worth the extra $15-20 dollars for the BM updo's - since it will be less of a hassle for them.

hell yes, that is way too high!!! i've never paid more than $60 and i've been a BM 6 times. however, i ALWAYS go to my stylist at her salon and not at the bride's house. none of the bride's ever cared. in fact, they all were happy they didn't have to worry about the BM's.
