Is $75 alot for bridesmaid updo's?

Mine would be $120, but $75 seems a bit pricey for bridesmaid updo's. I have girls from out of town, so they would have to get their hair done by the same person I choose, but that seems pretty steep.

IMO, yes.

That's what I thought... That was the Hair Genie. Soooo many people use them and their hair is great, but I wonder if their BM's gave them a hard time about the price...

IMO, no, that's not a lot. My sister's girl charged 150 for us, AND my other friend's stylist charged the same!

I paid around $80 (not including tips) for mine a few years ago.

Agree average. Seen more, esp if they're coming to you.

I feel like I am having the same problem! I didn't think 75 was over the top expensive, but when I asked my girls who was interested they all seemed surprised by the price! I don't know what to do because I would love to have them all there getting ready with me the morning of, but I feel like they are all going to go elsewhere....Oh well! What about make-up any ideas for a price that would be reasonable to ask?

I think if she is doing alot of girls she comes down on the price. Talk to her about it. I am sure she is willing to negotiate. She was sooo nice and she works for herself so she can bend the rules a little. I would think she rather have a little less from each girl in her pocket then you have someone else do their hair and she gets nothing.

I using the Hair Genie for me and my mom's hair- I have another girl coming for my BM's and she's doing it for $55. I would have used Jenn, but there are so many girls and I needed to find another hair stylist- the one I found happened to be less expensive.

I might throw in a $20 gift certificate from my hair stylist for my girls towards their hair (she does gift certificates). That way they will only pay $55 and we can all be together.

IMO, $75 may not seem like a lot to us brides who are already paying through the nose for everything. But in 'real life', we're 'asking' our girls to buy a dress, shoes, purse, to throw us a shower, buy us a shower gift, bachlorette party, wedding gift... and honestly, you can go to just about any salon and have an updo for less than $75.
