is a bridal shower less than $40/pp possible?

I need your help ladies----- if anyone would know it would be you girls!

I am looking for a shower location (not for me) that will be less than $40 pp (prviate room/area) inclusive of beer/wine. Any type of food and any location in NYC or Long Island. We have already ruled out having it at someones house (although would be open to renting some sort of space that is non-traditional).

There is a big group to be invited (over 60) and the person paying is worrying this is going to cost as much as a mini-wedding when all is said and done.

THOUGHTS? ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL!

We had my sister's bridal shower at Angelina's in Lynbrook, and it was waaaay less than $40 pp. We had the private room on the side. I'm not exactly sure how many it holds, but I'd say we had around 50 at my sisters. But we also ran a tab instead of having an open bar. Most people only had one or two drinks anyway, so thats an additional way to cut costs.

My friend had her shower at Nocello's in Northport and I am having my Rehearsal dinner there. I am paying 30 pp with salad, entree, dessert, coffe/tea/soda, and wine and beer.

I don't know what she paid, but they are definitely affordable

what day of the week is it?

Thanks ladies-- i def need to include at least beer/wine or some combo like that. everyone is young and probably would have a high tab if done otherwise.

It is very possible to do a shower for less than $40 pp I did one over the summer for $19 pp beer wine soda cake and salad and entree. We had the entire restraunt\bar to oyrselfs with 35 people. Many times your smaller local restraunts will do it cheap at a time their not busy, hoping to get guests to come back for dinner with their families. Everyone complimented on the place I picked and loved the food. Fm me if u want info on the place, its in lindenhurst.

The Blue Lagoon in Lindenhurst. The food is good and 3 course meal with full open bar is $35pp.

Sal's Place in Massapequa was $30 and included beer and wine.

Mines was at BBQ at University Place in Manhattan (NYU area). It was a private room and from what I hear Usef really worked with my bridal parties budget.

Try Lenny's Clam Bar on Crossbay blvd or just drive along crossbay blvd in Howard beach so many places to chose from all different sizes

Try Corrines Concepts in Catering in dix hills. She rents her own private space (very nice) called 843 East. It is next to the PORSCHE dealership on Jericho Turnpike. Her food is amazing and she has been voted into the Best Weddings (I think 2009). I used her for my son's communion. Everyone loved it. Good luck!

I second Nocello's - their brunch showers are great! Also in the ballpark of high $20s/pp are Wantagh Inn, Peppercorns (Hicksville), Bulldog (Amityville), Davenport Press (Mineola). Good luck!

Edit: Also Abbracciamento's in Flushing.

Yes, papa joes in deer park is way less than that and they give you a couple of different options to chose from.

I had my RD at Bulldog Grille in Amiltyville. We were in their private room and had a realyl great dinner for $26pp withouth beer and wine. Beer and wine was only an extra $10 per person, so you would still be under $40! Check it out! Our guests really loved the service and private room was so cute!

The 2011 shower at PEppercorns is less that that even after we added on a couple dollars for miscellaneous costs (decorations etc) and we're getting a lot o stuff included so it's totallly doable.
