is a bridal shower less than $40/pp possible?

Original post by HoosierCouple

I need your help ladies----- if anyone would know it would be you girls!

I am looking for a shower location (not for me) that will be less than $40 pp (prviate room/area) inclusive of beer/wine. Any type of food and any location in NYC or Long Island. We have already ruled out having it at someones house (although would be open to renting some sort of space that is non-traditional).

There is a big group to be invited (over 60) and the person paying is worrying this is going to cost as much as a mini-wedding when all is said and done.

THOUGHTS? ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL!

Mines was at BBQ at University Place in Manhattan (NYU area). It was a private room and from what I hear Usef really worked with my bridal parties budget.

love BBQ! happy hour pretty much all day!

i had my engagement party at Dao in Huntington (asian fusion) and we paid like $22 per person (no alcohol, we just ran a tab instead because there weren't many drinkers.

food was EXCELLENT. i booked with Larry and he was really great. the restaurant only opened in January (i think) and our e-party was the end of february and i think we were the first party they EVER had there so that's why the price was so low.

hope this helps!

Villa d'Este has various menus at different prices, you can find something in the $32 range

If you're open to doing a brunch (Sunday) shower, it's definitely possible. I only had 15 people at mine, but we had the back room at a really wonderful italian restaurant in Brooklyn and it was only $15 pp (just the regular brunch price!) plus gratuity included of course. It included unlimited mimosas.

That particular place couldn't handle 60 people, but I'm sure there are many places that could.
