Re: is a pant suit appropriate for an interview?
I hate hose! hehe Yes a well tailored pant suit with matching coat is acceptable.
Jim was a sweetie and bought a really nice Navy pinstripe suit and shirt for around $300 when I started job hunting.
I almost feel guilty I look NOTHING like I did during my interviews now with my day to day attire!

Pant suits are definately approporite. Thats what I wore for all of my interviews (even though I am in a different field).

Yes I have seen a number of women wear pant suits on education interviews. It seems like a real mix to me.

I am a teacher and I have worn pant suits to every interview...although I have been told that skirts are more appropriate I feel more comfortable in pants. Good luck!

for teachignits fien, b/c its not a profession where youwhere a suit all the time. at an intervierw you usualy go a step dressier than you would at the job. ( ona good day)
An accoutnant friend of mine felt serious guilt whenshe wore pants to an interview, btu that wa sthe career counlers tellign her not too- she only did it when it was raining, but I don't think anyone cared.
Its pretty sexest if they judge you for not wearing a skirt!

I think it depends on the profession - for more conservative professions (lawyer, things like that), no a pants suit isn't appropriate. But otherwise, yes.

Re: is a pant suit appropriate for an interview?
A nice suit is fine. I've worn them on almost all of my interviews and it was never a problem. My suggestions would be: don't have a low cut/tight blouse on under it and always have some sort of stocking/sock with closed toe shoes on. Some district's (like my mother's) feel it is unprofessional when people wear sandals or don't have on stockings on interviews.

I always wear pants suits for an interview (I work in higher ed). Good luck on your interviews!
