IS ANY OTHER BRIDE DOING THIS ALONE?

HELLO BRIDE TO BE!

JUST WONDERING IF ANY OTHER BRIDE IS AS STRESSED AS ME! WE ARE GETTING MARRIED ON JULY 1,2006 AND I ASK IF HE WANTS TO HELP PICK OUT FLOWERS, CAKE, WHATEVER AND ALL THE FH SAYS IS IT IS YOUR DAY, WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR! HMMMM SO IF IT IS NOT UP TO PAR DOES HE HAVE A RIGHT TO BE MAD AT ME THAT DAY?? I MEAN I LOVE DOING ALL THIS PLANNING BUT IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS! SORRY I HAD TO GET THAT OUT! HOPE ALL IS WELL TO ALL THE LONG ISLAND BRIDES!

I mostly did all of the planning.. My fiance has come to all the appointments, and we made the decisions together, but I arranged the appointments etc...Dont get upset, its mostly a girl thing anyway.. Trust me give it time, and they will come around.. my fiance is more involved now and we only have 6 months to go

Actually, my FH is really involved in some things that most guys could care less about. And believe me, it gets annoying some times. You're actually lucky. Don't tell him I said that.

FH is the same way. He says 'Talk to me when the weddings closer' oh well, what can you do?

MY FI has not helped out once. He is just not into it.. Is thing is ANY THING I WANT... so it is a little stressful but at least it will be your way... take a deep breath it will all work out...

I'm doing it alone, and don't mind that much. I think he trusts my judgement, I'm sure your FH does too! It's stressful, esp. when all the details are spinning in your head, but you can do it! Ask your maids for help, or a good friend! Guys don't care about flowers and linen colors on a regular basis so I guess they don't change for a wedding!

I'm actually thankful that he's in law school so that I can be the main decision maker! He was really into registering over the summer. It was great - except that we STILL don't have bedding done because he doesn't like ANYTHING!

My FH started out with just let him know. Then he decided he wanted to see halls. So he came with me to a bunch of them, and those he didn't see with me that I liked we went back to together. Then he decided he wanted to meet with photographers, so he came to all but one appointment. Then he decided that an evening ceremony was no good for pictures, so he wanted it rescheduled for another location (other than reception hall) in the middle of the afternoon. Now he doesn't like the invitations I picked, and thinks we should go with something else. (it's a good thing I told him my #2 choice was my #1 choice, so that he would pick my #1 choice ). He hasn't come to any florists with me, but has voiced a very strong opinion, and is vehemently objecting to candle only CP without flowers.

I say, be grateful.

lol your fh reminds me of mine...i want a candelabra so badly and he just keeps 'putting his foot down' hes afraid that the candles are going to set the flowers on fire!!

I did all the calling around and looking for vendors and I was very stressed out. My FI however did come to all of the appointments with me. He did at one point tell me that it was my day and it got me really upset, so I set him straight by saying that 'that this was our day and I want it to be special for him too' after that he got more involved. But with things like flowers, invitations, he doesn't really care, so did those things w/ my bm

yes I am doing it alone. My fI is in England so isn't really readily available to go to appointments etc. I try to schedule things when he is around, but he always does say whatever you want - and yes sometimes it is annoying, but atleast I get to pick the color choices I want etc., and if he doesn't like it - it is his fault, but he has been wonderful I must admit!!

honey dont stress....Most guys dont care about flowers and things like that - he isnt going to even notice them that day - my FH hasnt really dont anything the only thing that he cared about was the music so we did that together - every other vender and thing my mother and i did togtether - My michael told me the same thing i love you and just want to be your husband i dont care about all that other stuff i trust you have fun!

Most of it. I do all the research, make all the appointments, getting ideas. He pretty much just says if he likes/dislikes my ideas, and comes with me to most appointments (mainly because I am a horrid driver )

I think he is an abuser of the VETO power though

I'm going to be doing most of the planning alone but he will help me if I really need him to. Things like the reception site, tuxes, and photographer he would like to have input on. Flowers, dresses, gifts, limos, etc he really is leaving up to me. I will run everything by him but he's already told me it's really my day so he wants me to have it exactly as I want it. He says he just wants me to be his wife and that is all he needs. I love my FH!!!
