Is anybody else having trouble losing weight for the wedding?

Original post by JennK

I am starting to get nervous...my wedding is only 3 months and 4 days away and I got on the scale this morning and gained 2 pounds!!
I would like to lose 15 lbs before the wedding and no matter what I do, I cant lose it. Does anybody have anything that has worked well for them? How about a good fat burning workout? Help...Im desperate!!

Loosing weight is the hardest thing to do. I went on a crusade to loose weight after the college years of drinking and pizza at 4 in the morning! I have now lost 65 pounds and I gotta say it feels really good. I look back and can't believe how heavy I was. The best advice I have is to cut out the junk food and exercise! I go to the gym about 4 times a week. It sux sometimes but it is so worth it. I want to loose another 10 before the wedding...all I can say is I can't wait for the honeymoon....let the eating begin!! I don't care if I gain 15 pounds that week, I am going to eat everything! Good Luck to everyone and just drink lots of water and push away from the table :)

I Went from Size 16/17 to Size 7/8

I started my diet the day I got my engagement ring -- my FI hid it in our dessert -- which I never ate!

Here's what worked for me. Basically, for about 4 months I just watched what I ate -- cutting down on carbs and eliminating bread, rice, pasta, cookies, cake, etc. and increasing the amount of low-fat protein I ate. I ended up going down to a size 12.

After that, I started Body for Life. It's basically a 12-week program. You work out 6-days a week -- one day upper-body weight training, next day aerobics, next day lower-body weight training, next day aerobics.... On the 7th day you eat whatever you want. That's how I lost the rest of the weight, plus gained muscle tone.

I definitely recommend the program to anyone. The inches flew off of me and I've never been this thin before in my life.

hey stef28...yes, only 27 lbs but a lot of pants sizes. no misprint. all of my weight was in my hips and that where i lost it from. i was measured for a bridesmaids dress in december and my hips were 44', measured again last week for my dress and they are now 36'!!! i guess when i was in the 16 i could've squeezed into a 14, but i'm not a tight-jeans wearer. i just fit in an 8 now and if i eat what i want, i'm pretty sure i'll be back in a 10 in after few pints of ben and jerrys, so it really isn't as extreme as it seems. also, i think the 27 lbs themselves are a little deceiving because i've gained muscle mass as well. i had my meeting yesterday and lost another 2 lbs - 5 more until my goal and 3 months until my wedding so i am very happy!! good luck to everyone.

Re: Paiz

Actually, I had subscribed to Fitness magazine, let the subscription lapse and then they sent me this offer to resubscribe, blah, blah, blah and they sent me a tape. It is called Total Body Toning and it was produced by Fitness magazine. I am not sure if you can buy it in a video store, but maybe you can get it off their website. I assume they have one.

I'm on WW too and the online message boards there are also great. I know I've seen Stef28 on it...are there others who are on both boards?? It's really a super-supportive (though oftentimes addictive!) community.
