Is anybody inviting their new LIW friends to their wedding?

Just curious. I know a lot of us have become friends and hang out at g2g, etc etc

just wanted to see if anybody is inviting their new LIW friends to their weddings

I think we need more G2G and I am very sure we could become extremely VERY CLOSE..
More close than just E-friends...

I should plan another G2G soon... since the next one is til September...


I have always thought about having a couple of ppl but you never know how ppl are going to react to the invite.... not only that but i have though about asking for Phn #s but then i again i think u girls may think I am Weird if i do so...

Why would people think thats weird??? We're all in the same boat! Thats how to make new friends for a new chapter in our lives :o) Im not sure I would invite anyone from the boards unless we became close. One girl I met was actually a friend of future hubby's a while back so that worked out! She may be on my invite list ..

I agree with the more G2G but I don't think people would think you were weird!!! It's how you form new friendships and I think this is such a perfect place for that. I don't know about anyone else, but with the execption of one friend... FH and I are the only people we know getting married so its like we're in a different place then our friends.

Exact same situation with FH and me. If I were to get really close to anyone on here, she would totally be invited!

its an interesting question bc there is def one girl i have become extremely close with and others that i love to just hang out with at g2gs

but its kinda touchy bc you have to draw the line, you cant invite everybody...and i dont want ppl to feel obligated if i invite them that they have to invite me, does that make sense?

i mean, we're ALL planning weddings...haha

and yes, its a great way to meet new friends and who wouldnt want more friends!

A lot of the 2010 girls did it... its nothing to feel weird about... as long as you discuss it with the girls and youre both invited to each others wedding...

its funny bc none of my friends are planning weddings and i feel like we all tell each other so much stuff bc we're all in the same boat

I definitely would if I didn't meet my minimum If I got particularly close to some girls, I may invite them even if I don't meet my minimum.

yup! It was actually a bit awkward to ask one girl to hang out in the beginning but it turned out great and now i'm inviting 3 of them w/their FH's to our wedding and we've gone to each others bridal showers too. It's just a matter of discussing it and coming to mutual agreements about things like gifts, b-party's, showers, etc.

I would love to..... i also had a cpl of people in mind. When i was having my eparty... i verbally invited one of the girls on here because it was where she was getting married so though she could sort of preview the menu and venue :)

I am on an extremely, extremely tight guest list, and have about 30 on the B list already so I don't have as much flexibility to add people who haven't been in our lives for a significant amount of time.

That said, I have met one 2011'er who I will be inviting because we've gotten very close and I know we will get closer over the next year. We plan on having our FH's meet soon so there's no awkwardness with that either.

If I had a very large guest list and had to meet minimums, I'd probably consider a few more to potentially invite.

As for people thinking it's weird...I don't think that if you have developed a close enough relationship to invite them to your wedding, that they would think it was weird. Don't go inviting people for the sake of inviting them though. If it feels weird, it probably isn't appropriate. Just my thoughts.
