I swear, my FH is CONSTANTLY on the internet. Between his college football message boards, his college basketball message boards, checking sports scores, playing with stocks, checking e-mail, online gaming, instant messaging........ I feel like I'm living with a roomate sometimes instead of my future husband. And when he's not at home on his computer, he has his T-Mobile sidekick that he uses as his portable internet connection.
We've had many many talks about this problem of his, and he always attempts to do something about it, but he's starting to backslide again. He spends around 6 hours on the internet AFTER he gets home from work. The other night he was up until 5 am, last night he was up until 2:30 am!!!!
Am I the only one going through this?

I am worse - DH checks news & sports and plays some online games. I get caught up on message boards. He gets the computer when he gets home and I get it when he goes to sleep (which is early). Rarely do we need it at the same time.

He is soooooooooooooooo addicted to America's Army which he plays on the computer. It's pretty cool. It looks very real and you play other people. The thing is you play people from all over the world so there are different time zones. He is very often up until 2:30 and waked up for work at 5:30
DH recently got his cousin involved and he has stayed up till 5am twice this week and had to take off work

Seriously when I go on LIW it is mostly from work or when FH is not around. I would not choose the internet over him. If your FH is up all night online and choosing the internet over you then I think you have a serious problem. This is one of the reasons for my parents divorce. He was talking to tons of women online, in addition to playing games and checking sports scores. I'm not trying to say that your FH is talking to other women... I'm just trying to say that these thing happen.

FH says I spend too much time here on LIW! He hates using the computer...when he leaves work...he's done. I, on the other hand...have the addicition!

JULZ33, I must say I take personal offense to your post. I trust my DH 100% and if he chooses to play a video game that's fine with me. We watch TV together every night and often play video games together (I've recently become addicted to PacMan, DigDug and Galaga on PS2). He just chooses to stay up later than I do. I don't consider it him 'choosing the internet over me' he just enjoys playing the game and I would never stop him. If I had a problem with it he wouldn't play but I have no problems! I've watched him play and I see how it could be very addictive b/c you are interacting with guys from all over the world...look at LIW for women, very addictive!! Honestly I think YOU may have a 'serious problem' if you wouldn't trust your FH enough to go on the internet to play games if that's what he chose to do. FYI not every guy cheats and it's sad you may think so. Another thing to think about is if they ARE going to cheat..they will do it with or without the computer!!!

FH is pretty addicted to the internet, but thenb again, so am I .. but its never at the expense of taking time away from us .. I have a PC at home and he has a laptop. He does his thing, I do mine .. but once one person is done, the other is done, too!
He is VERY into cars and is always on chat boards about Jeeps, and trucks, etc.. and I used to make fun of him talking to all these people, saying 'what can you possibly be talking about?!?' But he's actually made some good friends online.
Then HE FOUND LIW when we got engaged and told me to give it a try!
500+ posts later, I guess I should thank him!
Then again, WE MET ONLINE so I can only say Thank God for the internet!!!

I am sooo bad! My dh is not addicted to the internet but is addicted to computers! He is always trying to update them, either on our laptop or computer. He always takes other peoples computers and tries to fix them or whatever. So although hes not literally online, he is on a computer a lot!

I can totally understand that. I wouldn't mind FH being online if I weren't around, but I take offense to him spending hours online when I'm sitting downstairs all by myself! And yes, I DO have a life, but I do like spending time with him and it makes me so mad that he spends maybe 15 minutes talking to me after work then goes and hides in his office until 3 am chatting with his virtual buddies about sports and whatever else. He just lives in his own little world sometimes......
DH isn't addicted to the internet at home...he checks everything at work...
but at home he is addicted to an online multiplayer game...
this time its star wars...and you can become different people (OG I am married to a geek!!) but he is trying to become a jedi...and he said he will stop then...I see another 6 months in my future

Danielle and I met online, so its a good thing that I am addicted to the internet. I am online 8 hours at work and then in the evening and on the weekend.
Danielle always says that I am addicted to the computer, its pretty funny.
Its a good thing I am. I found this board on the internet, I did so much research for our wedding, and I make money off the Internet selling stuff on ebay and half.com...I dont know what the world would be like today if there was no internet....Or what I would do to fill my spare time....
