Is anyone a Literacy Coach? I would love to chat with you....

I have a new job and I am confused of what my role is. The administration is nuts and there really isn't much of a support system. I am currently placed in a high school school.

What exactly do you mean 'literacy coach'? A coach fro students or teachers?

You must work for the Board of Ed....

Well when I worked for the city a Literacy Coach was there to support the teachers in teaching the literacy block...Balanced Literacy, Writing etc....

She also did staff development and sometimes pulled students for AIS

Currently, I am team teaching 2 classes and then I have 3 periods in which I have to do work. I was just trying to find out what others do during this time.

Personally, I would love to pull out students and work with them.

We have the regents looking over our heads. If the scores don't move up, then we become a SURR school. Lovely I tell you!
