Is anyone buying thier FI a gift?

Are we supposed to? I think the gift of me is enough .

We didn't get each other wedding gifts, you're right each other is enough!! Plus our w-rings were our gifts.

However, on our HM we bought each other something nice. He got me a pearl jewelry set and I got him a watch. It was nice bc we got to pick them out together and now we have special souvenirs from our HM; plus it was one less thing to worry about while planning!!!

I don' t think we will have the money either.



I was thinking of something small and sentimental.

We decided to wait until we had paid off everything for the wedding before deciding. To see if our bank account could take it!

DH has wanted a Tag Heuer watch since we met 8 years ago. This was the perfect occasion to warrant buying it, since we had nixed it so many times over the years.

My e-ring has a Peridot center stone so he bought me Peridot earrings to go with it. He also got another necklace/earring set.

We were talking about buying each other the Nintendo Wii as our wedding gift to each other since we are both big video game freaks and FH has been trying to get it for me since Christmas. I told him we should just give it to each other as a wedding present to ourselves from ourselves since we both want it.

Totally awesome gift idea, My FH got me one for x-mas and we both ABSOLUTELY ADORE it!!!!!!! It is the most fun console ever! Everyone should get one. (Funny, he is actually playing it sitting right behind me as I am typing! lol)

I surprised dh with a cigar roller at the wedding and he was soo happy and so were our guests
- it was not that much money

FI and I decided to do something sentimental but inexpensive (read: free) so I think we're writing each other a letter the night before when we aren't supposed to be seeing each other and then exchanging before the ceremony. We're paying for a big chunk of the wedding so we decided spending money on gifts wouldn't be smart right now.

I'm getting a groom's cake for the RD but that's as much for me as it is for him - I love me some cake!

A few years ago for Christmas I thoguht about getting him an actual poker table, like a nice sturdy wooden one with a pedestal base but when I thought it might be too expensive for Christmas, I thought about that for a wedding gift. That was when I thoguht wedding = new house. Now I guess it'll have to wait for a housewarming gift.....

NIce! We always wanted to buy his and her watches. I think I need the free, sentimental kind.


We are so broke trying to make this nice. Even when we cut corners, it still is a lot. Our eyes always pick out the nicer things.


In time we will buy each other a nice gift. I am thinking a plasma screen TV????????

Can't Decide
What is your groom's cake going to look like? Depending on what it costs. I am trying to get him one too.

His favorite thigns are beer, Jack Daniels, video games and football. I think his nother would have a fit if I did anything alcohol related.

So I am probably going with the football. Where are you getting yours from?

My FH has always wanted a Tag Heuer too!! I was thinking about doing this too!! I'm not working now cause of grad school -- I'll need to start working to pull that one off

another idea oI heard of was buying a video camera -- since you may want one for your HM or future events and pre-record a sentimental message for him on it before the wedding and have the BestMan give to him the morning of to watch it before the wedding. I thought that was sweet!!

the bands can be counted a gift too. i bought his band, he bought my band. in addition, I bought him about 3/4 carat diamond earing and he bought me a sworski crystal braclet . . .
It all depends on each personals financial status . . .
