Is anyone doing a 'unique' first dance? Something fun and not the typical slow dance?

I don't think I am, but its like that show on TV, 'rock the reception'. It would be really fun/ funny to do something different and suprise everyone.

My FH has mentioned it a lot, he really wants to do that. He is a great dancer--I'm not. Don't know if I could keep up and also keep it a surprise. If we do it he doesn't want anyone to know. We have looked into dance companies in Nassau but haven't made a decision yet.

Re: Is anyone doing...
We did a fun non-traditional first dance, mixing parts of 3 songs & dance styles...first song was My Wish by Rascal Flatts at which point we choreographed DH grabbing my a$$ and me pretending to get mad & walk away , second song was Something Stupid by Robbie Williams and the last song being Honkytonk Bodonkadonk by Trace Atkins...at which point DH put on a cowboy hat & jacket, i came up behind him & slapped him in the a$$ & we did a cha-cha...our guests loved it and we had a blast..we are not the serious types at all. ETA: I bustled my dress hi just for the 1st dance so i wouldn't kill myself..haha. I didn't look like that all nite
no - i would be to embarresed to do something like taht - lol

I would LOVE to do a 'rock the reception' type dance, but FH is not into that cheesy stuff. :( I might be able to get my dad to do it, though, lol.

Re: Is anyone doing...
we didnt do a typical slow song, we used eight days a week by the beatles but we didn't do like a 'routine', just a faster dance

Re: Is anyone doing...
i really wanted to
dh had to be convinced at first, which is weird bc he is a better dancer, im good but he is amazing.
But i broke a couple of ligaments in my foot 6 weeks before the wedding and was on crutches and had a cast on, so there went that idea since the doc told me it would take 6-8 weeks to heal. I was lucky i was even able to walk for my wedding, and i hadnt worn heels for 6 weeks and couldnt even try on a pair, it would hurt so much if i tried, and miraculously i was able to wear heels when i tried it on the day before my wedding, but i still had to be careful
its definitely something unique and real fun you can do, i say go for it
