Is anyone else a little nervous about...

Who cares what it's going to 'look like' to everyone else looking in. - It's not about them, it's about you and your dad.
Personally, I would rather NOT have the whole sappy crying father/daughter dance. - it's depressing ! i'm MARRIED ! not dead ! it's not like my dad is not my dad anymore you know ??
Don't be nervous about eveyone else's perception. - if you're feeling uncomfortable, what about choosing a more 'upbeat' song. - My friend just danced w/ her dad to 'My Girl' very sweet, and more 'fun' ........

I'm a little nervous only because my dad wants to do a waltz and although he leads very well, he also throws in his own steps. I'm sure it will be fine, I'm just worried about looking clumsy. AND I'M NOT!!!

hahahahha- THIS is MY dad !! I call him Tony Monero ! Dancing w/ him is SUCH a workout . you're like WHERE are you going and what are you diong and HOW can i possibly anticipate the next move to follow along ??

i'm nervous also. I also have no clue what to dance to with him! Have one for my step-father but not for my dad.

I will def cry - ever since i chose 'because you loved me' as my song with my step-father i cry! heck, sometimes i just think about it and i cry!

this can't be a good sign...

I'm afraid it's going to be really extremely awkward I guess. I'm not very affectionate with my father and though we have danced before, this is totally different.
I've seen other father daughter dances and they are always very affectionate, tear jerking and sweet... I don't think ours will be that way....

I'm just worried it's going to look really awkward!! Anyone else concerned about this part??

I feel the exact same way - I just thought I was the only one - I saw someone post on here that they are going to have the parents dance together. (My FMIL will probably have an issue with this - which is annoying!), but it would help to avoid an awkward moment for me.

I am having the DJ invite other father/daughter pairs to dance with us about midway through - I just don't want to be on the dance floor all alone with my daddy the whole time! (I will totally cry!)

Oh my Gosh - thats a great idea!

I am totally freaking out about this as well.. This is probably the thing that is given me the most anxiety about my wedding day..

Right after FH and I got engaged-- like 3 days. My dad was like, I expect you to take dancing lessons with me.. blah blah.. I am like Dad, it's mine and FH's wedding- I don't think our dance should be the main event.. My dad always thinks things are about him.

Also, dancing with my dad is very weird.. We are not affectionate and he dances with me like he would any other woman-- it gives me the heebie jeebies.. My dad still treats me like I am 5- cause he is so awkward and does not know how to treat me-- my parents divorced when I was 11.. and he moved out.

We are doing the parent dance all in one (dad does not know this yet) Me and him first verse, FH and his mom second verse, then all mom/sons, father/daughters can join after that.. After all, wedding day IS about the whole family..

Then I need to factor step-dad in..

Any good ideas for songs that are not too schmaltzy?
