I don't want to put our names/date of the wedding on anything! Most especially favors and gifts...
In the past whenever I received a picture frame or something w/the bride and groom's information, I'd throw it out.
Anyone else?
I just feel everything should be removable and/or nonexistent....

I wouldn't say I am ANTI - but I definitely have no plans on putting our names/dates directly on the favors. I am doing a removable tag, just cause I know I would be more likely to keep a favor that doesn't have a name/date etched on it. And the favor tags are probably the only spot at the reception with our names - i'm just not really into monograms, etc.
Plus that opens up so many more favor options - cause I can give just about anything as a favor (doesn't need to be personalized or wedding - per se) and just stick a tag with our names on it

I don't want to see our names on anything other than the cocktail napkins, mint boxes and the yarmulkes. We know what our names are and don't need to see them carved in a watermelon rind or drizzled in chocolate on dessert plates. Not my taste at all. Jewish weddings typically do not have favors so that won't be an issue for us.

I'm with you girls. I have having very limited named and dated items. only the cake bags and the tags for the favors- I have giving regular teabags and coffee. other than that, virtually no personalization.
I think disposable items are great though- napkins, matches and the like.

So glad I'm not the only one. I just saw a favor on theknot.com that a knottie used, and it was something that was useful and that I would keep, but the bride&groom's name was on it w/their date...I would throw it out b/c of that.

I agree, I only like putting names and dates on things that are disposable. I don't mind a personalized label on a bottle of wine or something, because after it's consumed it goes out. But I wouldn't personalize, say, salt and pepper shakers or something like that. But that's just me.

I'm anti-engraving if it's on a gift to guests. Though they like us, I don't think they want or need a permanent record of our wedding date.
I do like having our initials on things like the program/menu/printed stuff. That's why I love the idea of a monogram - and using it as a continuous image on all materials. But that's more for me than for our guests.

We're hardly putting our names on anything. I don't think we're even gonna get cocktail napkins, I mean they're cool but I don't think it's worth it.
The only thing we're getting our names and date on is the ribbons to tie around the favors. We know those will get thrown out but the favor is still good to be used!

I just don't see the reason to put names or monograms on anything .... other than labeling the favor box.

I think we will put our names/monogram & date on things like the menu and programs but definetely not on the favors or any gifts either.

We're only going to put our names/date on the ribbon attached to our favors.

I don't want to put our names on our favors, but I di want to get the little ribbon that has our names on it andI was thinking about ordering the little cocktail napkins forthe bar with a monogram and the date on it. then again, these aren't things that people will keep for themselves, just little touched to make the day a little more personal.

I wouldn't say I'm totally anti... I plan to have our names and date on some stuff like the tag of our favor. But not on the favor itself and maybe on our menus. But I don't think we'll do the cocktail napkins or anything like that.

Yeah, only on the invites and in the programs if I decided to do them. I'm not doing favors so otherwise I don't think is necessary.

Re: Is anyone else anti...
Our temple includes the cocktail napkins and bathroom handtowels so we are going to use them. If not, we would have used plain colored ones instead. The only thing that people MAY take home would be the yarmulkes and they are traditionally personalized with thename of the bride and the groom. FH and every male member of my family has TONS of them.

Yeah, I'm not really into that....we're doing donation favors, so I don't think our name will go anywhere on it, maybe coasters/matchbooks, but that's it.
I want all of our paper products to match though....colors, font, etc. I'm currently obsessed with that.

I was going to say too that but I'm curious about the mint boxes?
