Is anyone else bothered by this?

When I first booked my hall, about a week later I began to receive phone calls from various vendors, at home and on my CELL PHONE, and when I would ask these vendors (all wedding related) where they got my number they would say WM... First off I didn't agree to have my home phone # given out to anyone when I signed my contract, let alone my cell phone, so I placed a call to the hall and spoke with their person who booked us and explained(very calmly) my issue with this, He said, 'oh I'm so sorry dear, I'm afraid the damage is done, we didn't know'... urrrrrr that was over a year ago, now were 4 and half months away and the calls have begun again!!!! I've asked them again, and I get the same answer WM... Anyone else, does this drive you crazy? Or am I the only one getting these calls! Its insane, 4 calls in the last 15 mins!

thats really insane!!!! I cant believe they are calling your cell!!! That would drive me crazy!!!!

WCC did the same thing... I HATE it!!!!! Luckily it was only in the first 3 months for us, but it used to drive me insaaaaaaane. I mean you're paying the hall sooooo much for your wedding, whydo they need to sell your number?! It's so wrong. I also hated when a band, for example, would call and I'd say 'no we booked someone' (even though we didn't, but it gets them off the phone), and they'd ask who!! It's not their business!!!

We got a couple of phone calls after we booked, and I immediately emailed our banquet manager and said that we specifically told them not to give out our number, to have it removed from their lists, and that we would never book a vendor who contacted us first.

We never got another vendor call.

i was told theres a part on the contract that you have to intial if you DONT want the calls...i know I never saw it...so I too got some calls! I even got prank calls from a hall that i didnt book with! LOL Stupid them I had caller ID yet they deny calling

Our BM asked us if it was ok for vendors to contact us. We told him that they could mail us things, but phone calls weren't ok .... surprisingly, everyone complied! So we've gotten TONS of mail (postcards, etc) but have avoided those phone calls. Whew!!!!

Its very fustrating, espically since we live with his parents, and don't have a seperate phone line, we have 2 cell phones, so its not needed, and they don't stop calling them, this is the only thing that I am not happy with the hall for... I looked at my contract is says nothing in regards to it

Same here. I had one major problem with one of the vendors from NRC but that was after I went to see them for a quote.

The other problem I have had is from this website. I went to the bridal expo and it's been a freakin free for all. It's so annoying! Some of these vendors call 2, 3, 4 times! And, I think some of the vendors are sharing numbers with other vendors b/c some of them aren't LIW vendors.

If I were you, I would DEFINITELY complain about it, and rather loudly. I think these RH have some nerve sharing phone numbers. Mailings, fine, whatever they are way less intrusive than some bobo having me paged during business meetings to discuss music selection.

even if it doesn't specifically say something, they should have asked you - that's private info!!!

It bothered me, but doesn't surprise me. Its all about business. I am sure it is perfectly legal, just annoying.

I just kept telling people that I booked all my vendors.

my sister got married a few yrs back and I remember her going to the bridal shows and filling out her info either to win something or for more info and they called her 24/7, so I have made sure never to fill a single one out, if i want info I get it myself.. I guess i need to call again, just scared, you know they hold a lot of power on a special day, who knows what they could do!

They give your number to their house vendors...normal practice

I'm sorry to say this is a lot more then just the house vendors, Some lady left a message on my machine the other day to come back in and get our bands, I never even got my e-ring from her! I got it from a friend who is a jeweler... and that was only 1 of 4... someone said LIW gives it out too?? is that true?? Are they the cause of this too??

I keep getting stuff from vendors because of a hall I didn't book with!!!!!!!!

I did the same thing - asked how they got my number- and they told me it was from a hall that we didn't even book with!!!!!
