Is anyone else making sure they dont get their period on the big day??

Ok well I stopped taking BC over 6 months ago, but now with the wedding coming up in July I dont want to chance getting my period? I just got over it on Sunday. Should I call up the doctor right away? I used to take ortho-tricyclen lo. I would only want to be on it until JUly then stop. What are some of you ladies doing??

I spoke with my dr and came up with a plan so that i won't have it at the wedding or the HM....I would definitely worry about that and do what you can to make sure it doesn't...although since you have been off it takes some time to get back on so i don' tknow if it's too late...

I didn't have to worry. Thanks to the girls here at work my cycle changed and Im not getting it before during or after the wedding!!!

I will be skipping it that month!
Instead of taking the sugar/placebo pills, I'll just start a new pack immediately. I've done it before and asked my gyno about it and he said it was fine!

i used to work for an obgyn and that is what you do if you dont want it--

Skipping the sugar pills sounds great but i have tried to do that for something in the past and did it for 2 months and I still got my period not heavy at all but it was like this all month then!!!! It was the worst thing i did FYI

I am afraid something like that might happen to me. And something about skipping my period just sounds wrong. I might just go for it ending on the day of my wedding... usually by then I am not crampy.

Yikes!! I'm due about my wedding time too. Does anyone know if it is too late for me to start taking the pill now??

if you have never taken it before, i don't recommend that you do.. i went to the gyn last month and she was not too keen on me just jumping on the pill with 3 months left.. the first couple are a hit or miss..

I've asked my doctor numerous times, and she said there is nothing medically wrong with skipping your period, and that there is really no 'need' to have it monthly, but most girls prefer to have it monthly, so they know they are not pregnant.
I have been taking my BC pill like this since college, I am now 30. I get it whenever I choose to.. sometimes every few months, but I've gone as much as 6 mos without it.

Its wonderful, just ask your dr - he/she will tell you what pills to skip and start a new pack. Its the exact same thing as taking Seasonale. Buying 3 packs of your BC pills at once is the same idea as Seasonale --- its just a marketing strategy, having all 3 mos pills in one pack.

lucky for me im gonna get mine the week of and hopefully be done by the wedding.....or im gonna get it the last day of my HM i hope its the week of the wedding lol

I dont wanna go on the pill cause i wanna get pregnant right away

I already adjusted my pills so that I don't get my period. I was originally supposed to have it during my HM, that would not have been good!

Same here. I was able to push it back a week and all is well now. I would talk to the gyno about going on it but it might take a few months to get it regular so I would act ASAP. Good luck!

It's safe as long as you don't always skip. However, on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, you can't just start the new pack. You have to continue the same color as the last pills before the placebo pills (so basically you don't take the first two weeks). One pill equals one day so I took 7 extra pills to push it back 1 whole week. Good luck! I hope that helps.

I am going to see as the time gets closer but it looks like I am supposed to get it then. I am going to go the the pharmacist and take a Plan B to force a period. I know it's bad but I haven't been to a gyno since my son was born so there is no chance of me getting the BCP.

praying and hoping.. i know im gonna get it around the honeymoon tho but i dont wanna go on bcp again.. they made me pack on pounds in my abdomen n thighs.. no thanks

im on yaz. so starting next month im taking it straight through into july so i will actually skip my period. or else i would get it the day before my wedding and i just cant have that

Same here.. I'm on Yaz and am skipping the month.
