Is Anyone Else Using a 'Cap' Headpiece?

I fell in love with a....'cap' I guess you could call it....it's like this band (satin, with a row of crystal beading on both the front and back) that is shaped a bit like a yarmulke, I guess. Like 1/4 of a yarmulke. It has a plastic structure and conforms to the shape of one's skull. It sits a bit further back on the head (like a little forward of the crown) and the veil is attached so that it is on top of your head instead of the back. The girl said she would have cloth loops sewn into it so that bobby pins could be used to anchor it to my head. I can't find one like it anywhere on the Internet - does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? I guess it looks like a headband, really, once it's on top of your head.
I'd like to find a link so I can email it to my mom so she can see what I'm talking about...

I know what you are talking about. I think my mom wore one for her wedding and I looked at it to see if I wanted to wear it, but it didn't really go with my dress.

Somewhat obscured by the veil and made of lace.

Re: Is Anyone Else Using a 'Cap' Headpiece?

THe first one is the basic gist, Jenn. Mine is much more simple though...like a satin headband, I guess. I was looking at tiaras and clips and barrettes and stuff and I had never seen anything like it and it basically went with my dress perfectly. You guys are saying that it was hip awhile back? Like people don't so it anymore? I'll tell you this much - it precludes any updo that involves the top of my head. My hair will have to be smooth, basically, on top of my head. So maybe a nape of the neck thing is what I'll end up with.

Re: Is Anyone Else Using a 'Cap' Headpiece?

it seems to be something ladies did years ago but you can wear it now! If you love it, why not? I would if I found something I really loved! I love anything different. I don't always follow what everyone else is doing, if I like it, then thats it.
Just like vendors, I booked my vendors before I found LIWeddings.com and I must have good taste because most of my vendors are the same as everyone else's (except my DJ & florist-they are freinds). If you like it, wear it!

If anyone saw 'Sweet Home Alabama', Reese Witherspoon wore one. I think this is what your talking about, right?

That's right I saw it in Sweet Home Alabama

Regardless of who's wearing it, if you like it - it will be beautiful
