Mine is actually not till 4. And then cocktail hour at 5 and then reception at 6, we should be eating dinner the latest by 7. I think the timing will out great for you guys! No worries!!!!!!!!

My ceremony is at 2:30. I don't think this is late at all. An 8pm ceremony would mean you'd be dining late.

OMG! my friend did this .. she wrote an hour early on her invites and everyone showed up by the time the ceremony started.. which was a hour later! lol

are you doing anything for your guests for the time in between?
A lot of my guests are from out of town, so I figure most will check into the hotel in between. FMIL is throwing something for her guests staying in the hotel. Just cocktails and cheese.
My parents are thinking about having neighbors over to our house for the same, but they haven't decided yet.
My friends will probably entertain themselves, either at the hotel (for college friends) or at someone's house or a bar for my local friends. I am not terribly concerned about it, I have been to many weddings with long breaks, without stuff planned, we always manage to entertain ourselves.
