is anyone familiar with wedding world??

a few days ago, someone from this website called and told me that I was one of 5 brides picked this month for a gift. He said that I could get $400 off my flowers at wedding world in hauppague/commack (not sure which it is). I have an appointment today at 3pm/ Has anyone been there?

I have been there before plus 3 of my cousins used them all of their services for their weddings except for the DJ.

I am probably using them for invites, limos and video.

I was called by them last month. I went there and met with them. But they made it seem like they wanted us to sign on the spot and we felt we didn't really know what we would be getting or have to chose from.
FH and I weren't into the place. We booked every vendor separate.

But..It seems like a great, conveinent place if you want an 'all-in-one' type of place.

My sister used them and it was okay. The bouquet flowers were eh, showed up like an hour late and were looking kind of wilty early in the evening. The woman we worked with at Wedding World also lied and told her that she couldn't get peonies becuase they weren't in season (in June) and talked her out of hydrangeas for her bouquet. They also didn't get a sample CP to look at, although they turned out nicely. The invites that were part of the package were basic and the photographer wasn't hugely impressive but digital technology has changed in the last couple of years (she got married in 05) so they might have improved. They did her tuxes and favors (shot glasses) too as part of the package. I think separate vendors are more eager to please and do a good job for you but it's definitely worth looking at, especially if you're on a budget or don't want to deal with the hassle of looking for all of the different vendors. My sister was planning from CT when she was 22 years old and my BIL was in the Navy so it's not like they had all sorts of time to go shopping around so it was super convenient. But you do get what you pay for.

The only thing I know about Wedding World is Helens, (dresses) they are inside Wedding World. I know that they are privately owned, not owned by Wedding World. I don't know if any of the other vendors inside there are like that, I think Tuxes are.

I like Helens and got bridesmaid dresses there and have had good experiences, but I am biased, I am friends with the owners daughter. Still I have heard others rave about their seamstress and she did a great job fixing my dresses, and the people there are very nice.

I can't say anything about the rest of Wedding World. I don't know.

well it was strange, because when the guy from liweddings.com called me, he said that the gift was 400 dollars off either flowers or photography. So I wanted to do the flowers. When we got there, the woman said that the gift was only for photography (which we don't need), and that the guy was wrong. She had no flowers to show us anyway. Then she sat us in the office, and started to draw up a contract. she quoted us $1200 for the flowers (not cp's, but like my flowers, bridesmaids, grooms, etc), and 75 invitations that include response cards and envelopes. She said just the invites themselves would cost $325. Then she said the grooms tux would be free, 1/2 off for the dads. I thought all of that was a pretty good deal, but I wasn't comfortable signing anything, since I haven't really looked anywhere else yet. looks like they have been in business awhile though.
