Curious about this... one of my BMs has two kids (a two year old and 6 mos old) and her mom is planning on skipping my wedding to take care of her kids!! I understand my BM not wanting to leave her kids with just anyone, and I'm not really having children at the reception (except for a select few in the BP) and I want to make the exception for her. So I'm considering a sitter.... has anyone done this?

Re: Is anyone getting a babysitter for the reception?
We considered it. But then I asked my friends with kids if they would feel comfortable leaving their children with a babysitter at the catering hall, and they said that they wouldn't feel all that comfortable, so we didn't do it.

We considered it as well. But didn't do it. And I am sorta glad we didn't. he kids, all ages, were no trouble at all. They were running around dancing all night. It turned out the babysitter would have been a waste!!

We are having a bunch of my cousins kids at the wedding and have made arrangements with the hall to have a sitter there. I think it's a good back-up plan that allows the parents a little piece of mind. The sitter at my hall is actually the CEO's daughter.

Re: Is anyone getting a babysitter for the reception?
i am asking my best friends younger sister to just hang out with the kids. fh has 4 kids who will be in the bp and my family has a lot of kids the same age so i figured if i asked her to bring a friend and hang out it wouldn't be so bad. that way the kids can have fun, she can have fun and food and my family members don't have to worry..i've known her all my life and so has my family..

We had 2 sitters! They worked out great. The parents were asking for their phone numbers by the end of the reception because they did such a good job. We had 12 kids ranging in age from 6 months-10 years old!
