I picked Friday because I wanted to have the ceremony in the late afternoon and I want the ceremony at night. We are night people.
Anyway, Saturday nights were just too expensive for us, so I picked Friday night. But now I am concerned about my guests, do you think they might miss the ceremony that we scheduled for 4:00? Is anyone else having second thoughts?

We got married on a Friday. Our ceremony started at 6:30 and our cocktail hour immediately followed. Many people did not make it in time for the ceremony though. Because of the time of day, many of our guests got stuck in traffic.

I am taking puctures before our 6:00 church and am nervous that we are going to get stuck in traffic from the place we are taking pictures to the church. I guess we should account for traffic.

Friday wedding here too. Ceremony starts at 4 and cocktail hour starts at 7. I have heard a couple of comments on why we have chosen Friday over Saturday and I have said well if its such a problem for you, then don't come.

I went to a wedding this past Friday. The ceremony was at 4:00 and the church was pretty packed. There were those people that didn't make due to work, etc., but it was a decent turnout.

What about a Friday night during Lent??? I'm slightly concerned that people won't enjoy the food as you're not suppossed to eat meat during Lent on Fridays; any experience w/ t his???

I am getting married on a Friday night during Lent.. the priest is going to announce a special dispensation to the guests to eat meat that night. I havent had any complaints about a Friday night so far, people still the have the whole weekend left.

We were married on a Friday. I had the same concerns about people making it to the ceremony. Well the church was packed! Dont worry about it, people that need to leave early or take the day off will do so.

I wouldnt worry.....everyone will get the invites a head of time to take off that day or leave work early! I'm also getting married of a friday.

My opinion is this... people take off work for frivolous reasons, so why not for a big event? Sure, some people may miss the ceremony, but that can happen any day of the week.
I had second thoughts for a while, but in the end I think unless all of your guests are strict Type 'a' corporate people, you should be fine.
