That's a good thought. Are you? What sound were thinking of?My FH wants to dance with my Mom to an irish song about here home town-Derry. The song is The Town I Love So Well it was written by her cousin, Phil Coulter.
yes i am planning on dancing with my mom since i am her only child and we are like best friends! maybe to 'wind beneath my wings'
Thats funny, my Mom wanted us to have a dance, we have this special song that we both like, its called Baby of Mine. But I told her that I never heard of that. Im glad to hear that other people are thinking about it, maybe I will have to do it.
I am dancing with my mom to Celine Dion's 'Because You Loved Me'.
Dawnie- I was thinking of that song too. Now I am trying to think if I should surprise her or ask her hwo she would feel.
my parents are divorced and my mom raised me but i have a good relationship with my dad now. so, they are walking me down together and standing under the chuppah and i am having a dance with each of them. with dad, joe cocker's 'you are so beautiful' and mom, natalie merchant's 'kind and generous'. it isn't really a slow song so we aren't dancing like a slow dance, we're just going to dance around and probably look goofy but it'll be fun! i am very lucky that my parents get along well enough to partipicate together. i didn't feel right though just dancing with dad since mom is the one who really did all the work. she deserves the honor as much as he does.
i danced with my mom to because you loved me by celine dion..
As another bride raised by my mom, I have been going back and forth over this decision. For some reason I feel kind of uncomfortale about it. As of right now, I think i am going to dedicate the song, 'because you loved me' and have my mom dance with my stepdad while I dance with my FH.
my mom has been the one constant in my life. she has been there for me through all my bad times, good times, happy, or sad, she has been my #1 best friend. my parents are divorced, and i don't have a terrific relationship w/him, so my mom is walking me down the aisle, and i will be dancing w/her to...Faith Hill 'There You'll Be' from Pearl Harbor. i am gonna dance w/my dad also, but not such a big deal. actually, the song i will dance w/my mom to, will be my own voice recorded w/the karaoke cd at a recording studio since i have sung my whole life and my mom lives for that stuff. she doesn't know what song, or that it will be my voice until we are on the dance floor at my wedding. i hope this can help someone. the words to that song are so appropriate.good luck!
Cindy- That's funny, I was going to surprise my mom also but I decided to tell her. She said she was glad I did because she would have been caught off guard and nervous.
