is anyone / has anyone made their own photo albums?
FH and I didn't get a package from the photographer that included any albums because we wanted to save money ... has anyone made their own albums in the past?
Can you please recommend the website / store you used?
i want a flush-mount album with thick pages (not flimsy ones like on vistaprint)
Thanks

Shutterfly. I made our Photo Guest Book on there (got the 12x12 leather bound book) and it came out amazing! I love that you are able to play around with the layout of every single page and put as many or as few pics as you want on each page. Plus, Shutterfly is always having great deals on photobooks and they always have discount codes available so you can get a pretty sweet deal. I waited until I found the best deal possible and ordered our book. You can also combine discount codes which is great.
I have pictures of the books layout in my album if you want to check it out. They have tons of styles and layouts to choose from.

I second Shutterfly. I made albums of our Engagement Photos for our parents/grandparents for our RD. They came out great. It's really easy to use and totally customizable. Plus they are constantly having discounts. Right now it's 50% off a 12x12.

I've made from Shutterfly & Snapfish but Shutterfly's quality is better...If you want the professional type of photo albums try: http://www.picaboo.com/ They currently have a discount that runs thru October 2010 - 30% off...
It's time consuming but you'll save $$$

am i looking at the wrong area? i don't see flush mount with the stiff pages on shutterfly or snapfish.
picaboo had them though but it was a bit pricey (i think)
thanks!

I made engagement albums for our parents using shutterfly and they loved them, they actually have a wedding section and they are always having deals. I think I am going to make a wedding guest book album through them too. HTH

I like smilebooks. you can put pictures and text anywhere or use their templates you can look at the cost at any time and you don't have to upload all you photos to a website.

i'm sure my publisher offers other options but the books i've ordered through them are not on thick pages. they are however totally beautiful!!

Re: is anyone / has anyone made their own photo albums?
i had found several sites that can do it....in fact, a couple said on their site that photographers usually outsource their albums to them....
here's one i found tonight, but if you search 'do it yourself flush mount albums' a bunch of sites come up....i plan to do this myself.
Re: is anyone / has anyone made their own photo albums?
I came across this site today and found this post specifically so I can let you know about it. It's called Picaboo.

They actually have the albums that you see at photographer studios and they are inexpensive compared to what your photographer charges. I would take a look. They are not as inexpensive as shutterfly and all them, but it looks like the have the thick pages and nice covers.
