Is anyone having a Bell Boy??

I was thinking of a way to include my nephew into the wedding. His sister is A Flower Girl. I already have a ring bearer. One of my BM's mentioned having him come in saying 'The Bride is Coming' The Bride is Coming' ringing a bell. I thought that was cute..

Any thoughts????

Sounds like overkill, IMO.

Star Jones did it and I though OMG...enough! Maybe because she was so over the top and self-consumed to begin with!

I think that it is GREAT and not over the top. However, I'd be worried that he'd be unwilling to do it when the time comes.

Complete overkill. Everyone will know the bride is coming when the last bridesmaid walks down the aisle. Dont need a bell boy.

Please dont flame me cause Im just naive but I assumed it was an African American custom.....I had only seen them on tv when a Black couple was getting married

I had my little cousin do that! It was adorable.

Here is a picture. It was a way to lighten the mood before I came out. The trumpets played the fanfare music right before he came out so the guests thought it would be me and my dad. But it was really my cousin. We were not sure whether he was going to actually do it because when we practiced he kept running around. But my grandmother promised him a toy and I promised him the chocolate fountain. He did it PERFECTLY!! He really stole the show. When he got to the front, he yelled, 'I did it!' So everyone was laughing hysterically. Everyone commented to me how much they loved it.

I like kids at weddings and I did not really care if he screwed it up. Because its the imperfections which make it cute and memorable.

He yelled, 'Here comes the bride.' He has a really high-pitched baby voice so it is particularly adorable.

I don't think its overkill! I'm not having a ring bearer or flowergirl but since I'm a teacher in the catholic school in the same parish where I'm getting married I was thinking of having a few of the kids ring small wedding bells. I think its a cute touch.

Another possible option....have 2 ring bearers!

FH and I are having 2 because we wanted to ask one of his younger cousins and we wanted one that was old enough to do it, but not too old....so there are 2 that are the same age...we couldn't ask one and not the other!

So we are having 2 ring bearers...

I also think it is different if you had it outside (like AM470 did) or in a church...not sure how it would come off in a church....echoing, etc...
