I know a couple of people who have had or having that problem. One had her wedding and she told her MIL to pay extra people she wants to invite everyone in the world. and the second just got in engaged and she wants to run to vegas to get married!!!

ohhh that.....Yeah...I'm getting that too but you have to talk to her and be NICE about it. and tell her that inviting everyone becomes a financial issue unless they're going to help w/ the expense.
My FMIL tells me 'don't worry about it....don't worry about it....but I have to I don't want 800 ppl in the wedding
Although I'm lucky to have both supportive parents, and FH and I are paying for everything....I spoke w/ her and she understood therefore she's not inviting (everyone and they're mother) Bronx Slang.
Just talk to her....honest mother daughter talk,,,it'll be alright.

FH and I told both our parents that they have a limit as to who they can invite. If we don't know the people, have never met them, etc...they are NOT coming.
Is your MIL paying for the wedding? If she is, you might have to cut her al ittle slack. If not, then I would say y ou draw the line!

Not yet. . . hope I never do. My sisters MIL, turned into the wicked B*tch after her and her DH (that we don't care for either) got married.

Yup yup!... My FMIL just asked me if she could bring out a BIRTHDAY CAKE for HER FRIEND at OUR ENGAGEMENT PARTY!!!! ummm ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! grrrrrr ![]()
