Re: Is anyone having Multiple
Great question, I was also looking into doing something like this. I was wondering if anyone knew if you had to apply for special permits (if that's even the right word for what they would be)

Re: Is anyone having Multiple
One of my friends had a wedding here and in Khazakstan. She legally was married here, which caused her less problems, but had a ceremony and reception there.
The only problem she had was finding clergy who would do the ceremony there since she was already legally married.

Bedda26 That is where I would like to have mine also. My fiance is first generation Italian and his mothers whole side still lives in Italy. How is your brother going about doing it?

Re: Is anyone having Multiple
I am getting married in Italy this October (FH is from there and alot of his family is still there).
Legally it's easier for us to get married here so we will have a VERY intimate ceremony here in the US. The Wedding ceremony in Italy will not be a legal one, but will look like it anyway...They call it a 'church blessing'.

Thanks Sage 10.03, at least now I'll have an idea of what to call it. I'm still new at this wedding stuff!

I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I didn't think you needed a 'special permit' I thoguht it would just be like all the couples that renew their vows????

Re: Is anyone having Multiple
I am palnning on doing the same thing, but in the US. Waiting for an anulment to come through for FI so we are getting married on site of the ceremony this September. We already spoke with a priest and you can get a church blessing at any time. Hopefully the annulment will go through because when FI told the tribunial that we had a date set, they were very very upset.

Re: Is anyone having Multiple
I am getting married in Italy (same wedding planner as Sage 10.03!) in a civil ceremony (which is legal) and then having another wedding (reception, no ceremony) back in the USA afterwards.
