Is anyone here a teacher?

Hey

I was wondering when some of you teacher brides are getting married. Are most of you having summer weddings? I know its easier in the summer b/c its just more practical for honeymoon etc, but Im a nut about heat and humidity and all the problems that come along w/ that.

Thoughts??

ps- i teach 6th grade. You?

I'm getting married July 28th , 2006 and I currently teach 7th grade in Philly. We're moving back to LI where I'll probably have to sub because a permanent position isn't popping up but anyway - I do know people who were teeachers that got married before the summer and just saved there sick/personal days for their honeymoon. Do whatever you feel will be easier for you....I was happy with late july because I would get out of school mid june and still have a month for any last minute details!

I am currently finishing up my Masters, and I will be finishing my first year teaching when we get married that summer! Both of us will be teachers, so we wanted our wedding in the summer time so we could enjoy future anniversaries.

I already set my date and everything...and now I decided I'm going to apply for a teaching job in the city schools. i know my wedding day won't be a problem b/c it's the day after Thanksgiving, but i'm hoping if i get a job they won't have a problem with me taking my HM...we already booked it.

I'm a School Psychologist & FH is a teacher so we decided on a summer wedding - July 14 2006. We also want to take a long honeymoone & have time to move in together before we have to go back to work in September

I havent picked a date yet (though I had to for LIW) I am hoping for President's week so I can plan a honeymoon around it and take a few days before and after. I also think that by flying and returning midweek for our honeymoon will probably save us money which we will be able to do if I take some days AFTER President's week. Right now, I am trying not to call in sick and accruing all of the days I can so I can carry them over for next year for various appointments and honeymoon days.

I also teach summer school and the money is too good for me not to work. my building is also air conditioned (by law) as I teach special ed so there is no reason for me not to work.

I am a teacher 9th and 10th grade English-- and I am getting married next July-- I get so stressed from work, so I couldn't have my wedding amidst all of the work related stress!

I teach sixth grade and planning a july wedding. My district seriously frowns on taking more than two days off in a row and a taking a day off after a holiday weekend. I am I wouldn't of been able to take a HM. Two ladies got married in the fall and they only took the Friday before and the Monday after.
I guess it depends on the district!

I'm a teacher. We're getting married in July of 06. We were thinking of having a December wedding but figured summer was the best option for us.

I am a first grade teacher and I got married in November. I went on a 10 day honeymoon and my principal had no problems with it. I could not see getting married in the summer because of the heat and humidity.
