Is anyone not

going on a honeymoon right away?
Anyone waiting a few days? Weeks? Etc...?
I am getting married on a Sunday and probably leaving for honeymoon the following Friday.
What does everyone think?

We are thinking about doing the same thing, but we're not sure. Our wedding is the week before Labor Day and we're worried about Labor Day travel rates being higher.

I think that is fine, my brother did the same thing. He got married on fathers day and left for Jamaica the following Saturday!!

We're getting married on a Thurs and leaving for our honeymoon that Sat after the wedding. I've heard of other people going on their HM weeks after their wedding so it is not uncommon at all.

Thanks! We want to go on a cruise and most of the good ones leave on Saturdays and Sundays...

Why not fly to where the ship departs from for a few days? Miami, San Juan, etc? Extend your honeymoon

I think I want to leave on the Tuesday after the wedding (wedding is on a Sunday). I don't want to wait that long because I will feel like I should go back to work until I leave for the honeymoon.

My husband and I got married on a Saturday and didn't leave for our honeymoon until the following Friday. We did this because we were going to Europe and we were meeting up with a tour and we also wanted to focus on the wedding and have time to relax before packing for our honeymoon. It was a good thing we did this too because the day after our wedding we got a hit with a huge snowstorm that stranded some of our guests in LI for a few days. We flew out the Friday without any problems.

Talking to other married couples -- they have said the Wedding's such a fast paced day that they needed a day to recover. That's what I and the FW are planning to do.. take a day .. relax(which will probably be the first time in weeks since before the Wedding.. haha).. and leave on Monday for the HM.

Yes i'm getting married on Friday night and we are leaving for the honeymoon the following thursday!! Only because that is when our timshare lets u check in!!

not really sure yet. We are definitely going to at least wait 1 full day. But all depends on where we decide.

We have no idea..
we may just go.. or put it off for a month or so that way I can collect vacations days, roll them over and use them for our honeymoon.

We just don't know yet.

That is EXACTLY what we are doing... getting married on a Sunday, and leaving for our cruise the following Friday ... its just the way it worked out!

I think I'll enjoy having the time to settle in before leaving for the trip, and pack, etc.. I think I'd be TOO stressed if I left the day after the wedding, to be honest!

FH wants to get AWAY from our apartment that week, though .. take day trips, go to the beach etc... sort of a 'prehoneymoon'

That is EXACTLY what we are doing... getting married on a Sunday, and leaving for our cruise the following Friday ... its just the way it worked out!

PS: We are going on a 10-cruise that leaves from NY -- it leave on a Friday, and we had actually planned the honeymoon BEFORE the wedding! (we're a bit unusjal, I know)

We are only part of our honeymoon right away - FH's summer session (he goes year round with only 2 weeks between semesters) starts May 1st (the sat after the wedding) so we are going to disney for a week (he will miss the first day of class - then we are doing a cruise in August during his next semester break
