having dancing at their reception and if you aren't what are you doing to fill the time???

Went to my cousin's wedding in Trinidad and he didn't have any dancing. People just ate, mingled and then went home.
Went to a wedding over here with no dancing, we didn't stay very long to see what people did. I'm assuming they just mingled around, but this was an early wedding. Ceremony at 9 AM and then reception around 12 I think.

My wedding is early in the morning as well with Reception about 12 so I was just wondering how much of a 'party' it can actually be, you know? IDK...

My reception starts at 1 and we are having a DJ and dancing. If you have a DJ or band and have room for people to dance they will!

I think people will dance and have a good time no matter what time of the day it is. If you have a good DJ and MC you have nothing to worry about. I think when people go to a wedding they expect there to be dancing and music

My reception started at 1 and people danced like crazy because our DJ rocked the house and drank like crazy!! You couldnt even tell it was during the day because we had lights and had the whole club thing going on.

This bride did a casino party. It looks really cool.
I once went to a wedding in NC where there was really no dancing but there was also no booze... You need at least 1 lol. I was pretty bored.

I think it's a party no matter what time it is.. it's a wedding, it should be celebrated! & there should be dancing even if it was 8am!! JMO!

I have been to many afternoon weddings and the people still danced and partied. I don't see why an afternoon wedding is any different then an evening wedding!!

we had an afternoon wedding and the DJ was great! everyone was up the entire time. some people enjoyed the beach grounds outside. It was perfect. You could do a theme wedding if you really didnt want a dj like vegas or cocktail party with mingling. you could have trivia, photobooth or other entertainment.
