And, having the bridal party sit to the right and left of you and your fh.
Is this old fashion

I don't think it's old fashioned at all. We will either do that, or just sit at a regular round table with the bridal party and their dates.

Re: Is anyone NOT doing the sweetheart table
For my brothers wedding in CT they had the dias I thinks its called when the whole BP sits at a long table.
I thought it was a little weird. I was in the BP, and I didn't know any of the BM's and would have much rather to sit with my FH and we were only dating about 7 or 8 months then.
I think having them at their own table is better, or at least have their dates sit with them. JMO

That set up is fine if your BP do not have significant others or spouses..trust me..I went through drama at DH cousin wedding..they had him sit at the BP table and I was by myself for the majority of the night..needless to say he got up as soon as the toast was over and took his place next to mine..The bride was a little pissed but hey she never discussed this with us..just assumed it would be ok.

We are not sitting at a sweetheart table. We are sitting with members of the bridal and groom party and their significant others.

My only concern with that is - are the dates going to be allowed to sit at the table too?

Ya....
My dad is pushing for the dias...with all the bridal party members to sit along side of us.
Not too sure if I want to do this.

No, what you have is the sit in the center. I think, the BM to the left of her..and on the guys section all of the GM.
Kinda of like a long table.

IMO the round/oval table with you, BP & dates (if you can fit) is the modern version of the dias. Will Dad go for that?

You don't have to listen to your dad. Do what you want to do. My grandmother was scandalized by our sweetheart table, but you saw her on the day of!
If you have a small BP, you might be able to squeeze the dates up there.

We have small bridal and grooms parties so the round table works for us. Do what feels best for you.

Re: Is anyone NOT doing the sweetheart table
We're having a Dais, and it's okay with everyone. The only person I can see having an issue with it would be one of my BM's husband, but FH and I were sat separately for their wedding so I don't see it being a problem.
