I am not sure about this? What are the benefits of having one? What are the disadvantages?
TIA!

Re: Is anyone not having a aisle runner?
Our church doesn't allow them because they said they have had too many brides tripping over it so we aren't having one.

Re: Is anyone not having a aisle runner?
I'm not, seems like a big waste of money to me, and the last thing I need is one more thing to worry about tripping on... as if that big dress won't be enough!
I really don't see any reason to have one, personally. I mean, obviously people have them because they think they look nice, and that's a perfectly good reason, but they are definitely not a necessity or even really something that the majority of people do.

I AGREE!!!! Every wedding I've been to has a problem with them. It's normally a small problem, but annoying enough. If it was free, maybe. But why would I want to pay for something that I could trip on or the ushers have a problem rolling out?

Re: Is anyone not having a aisle runner?
I'm not, our church doesn't encourage it because they've seen too many problems with them, mostly people tripping on it. Also, I hear unless you have your own made, there's a chance that the one you get from the limo company might be wrinkled and a little dirty.

Same here, but I do want one! I don't want to walk down the aisle after everyone else and sweep up the dirt with my dress!!

I would love to have one but my church also does not allow this. I think one of the benefits of having one is that it looks SO pretty.

I am not unless the limo provides it, I saw on a post about what did you regert doing or something like that and one girls said spending all that $$$ on a Aisle runner exspecilay if its out side its just going to get messed up and then throw it away for 40-100.00 I cen find something elese to spend with that $$

99% of the time - the limo company provides you with a 100-ft white aisle runner.

I am not...a couple of my friends had bought them and then ended up not using because they started to think they might trip and fall s I am learning a lesson from them and not buyinbg one from the get go.

Re: Is anyone not having a aisle runner?
I didn't have one, by my own choice--my minister was surprised I opted not to have one. It would have been free from my limo company, but I just didn't want anyone tripping, which happens fairly often among my friends...My church also has a carpet, which I know a lot of churches do not.

Re: Is anyone not having a aisle runner?
At first my church was against it but told me it HAS to be LACE cannot be PLASTIC as that is what bunches up and they are liable for lawsuits if someone falls. My limo company had it so it didnt cost me anything. I have to say though, Im glad my dress was dragged on a runner and not the floor to snag or pull on it, and yes it does look pretty.
We had communion too a full hour and half mass and Im glad we had it, it added to the weddings elegance, IMO.
