Im not. He is going with his family to Jersey/Philly and Im staying with my family in Queens. I think I may be working on Fri, thats why I didnt go but its my last Thanks with my fam before I get married so thats another reason why I didnt go

I'm not spending most of the day with him. We are each having Thanksgiving dinner with our families but he will be coming over at night.

this will be the first thanksgiving in almost 6 years that DH and i wake up together on turkey day and spend it together. so i know how it feels not to spend it together!!!
the first 2 years we were together--he worked for macys and marched in the parade---then the last few years he would always have to work!

This is the first year we're not spending it together - he usually is off from school but is doing some stupid internship rotation and only gets Thursday off - it would be crazy to drive all the way from Boston for one day and go all the way back. It's kinda sad though - he might not be home until xmas!

FH's parents are quite old (and stubborn) and don't want to leave their house for Thanksgiving, so FH will be eating turkey with them. Then, he will come to my brother's house to have dessert with my family.

I am, but expected not to. He is coming after work. He is in the NYPD and usually works overtime on holidays.

I almost spent it w/out him, but I felt bad for his mom so I'm going to her house afterall.
One year I did Christmas Eve w/out him though.

i never spend thanksgiving w/FH because he eats at his moms and then leaves right away for hunting. i dont mind at all because i love having thanksgiving at my house. my mom makes the best food!

FH is actually on his way to Jersey now This is our first Turkey day apart---but I will be staying by him once he gets home tonight I hate it and it is going to be hard when we are married and spend them apart

You are not alone. I'm spending Thanksgiving with my family. FH mom was just transferred to a rehab facility (she had a MAJOR stroke) so he is going to be there and hanging out home. It's also the 20th anniversary of his dad's death so he's definitely a bit down today. (Me too because we are going to be apart).

thankfully my family does everything early and FH's family does everything late so we're going to my parents from 2-5 and then his sister's at 6!!

Originally he was supposed to work the day shift, then he was telling me he was going to stay for another shift for overtime, so that ******. My parents are in Florida right now so I was going to go to his Aunt's house with all of his family. Then he told me the other day that he isn't working today! Then he said he is working an overtime overnight shift but at least I can spend the holiday with him!!!

we always spend it together. 1 year he didn't want to do anything so he stayed @ my house while i went to my uncles house. he was going through a rough time bc his brother got deported and he basically banned holidays that yr- we usually go to my family 1st-he sleeps over then we go to his. but im so down today i think im going to stay home.

We didn't he works at a restaurant and had to be in at noon and didn't get home till midnight. I went to my aunt's house and he called a million times but his boss said if he worked TG day he will def be off on Christmas & New Years Eve.!!! YAY!
