I'm taking his name....We'll probably be announced as Robert and Christine (last name) I'm not sure about the church, it's a lil more sophisticated at the church so I might have the priest say, 'Mr. & Mrs. Robert (last name)'

I am still torn on the name thing. Leaning towards keeping my own.
I think we won't be announced, and for the first dance we will be reffered to by our first names.

Yeah, I am in the same position as you.
I find that I DO want every one to know, though, regardless of what my decison is, what our names willbe.
I Really do not want people to refer to me as Mrs. Peter (his last name)! Ack!

I agree. I was wondering if for just this one time when they introduce us they can say Mr. and Mrs. and use his last name. But I do want to let people know I'm not changing it. Maybe they'll figure it out when they see our Thank you cards...

Re: is anyone not taking FH's name completely?
The MC could say, for the first time as husband and wife Mr. John Smith & Ms. Jane Unsmith
ETA I think people are going to call me whatever they want regardless of what I do/say anyway.

I am dropping my last name. For example: If I was marrying John Smith. I would be:
Stacy Smith....I DO NOT LIKE Mrs. John Smith!
I never agreed to drop my first name!!!!!!! It really bothers me!

I am adding his last name on b/c of peer pressure. I am an only child and the end of the lind for my last name. So I am going to have 4 names..lol. You can call me ECJK. Eww that looks awful, back to the drawing board.

I just don't think I'm cool with being annouced as 'Mr. & Mrs ANTHONY _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ... Its soo not me.
And since his grandfather's name is Anthony also, it would be as if they were announcing his GRANDMOTHER when we came out !! I mean she's a lovely woman and all.. but I'm not read to be compared to a 90 year old woman (even if I DO feel 90 lately!)
But I am taking his name, so I think we'll just be introduced as 'Anthony and Felicia _ _ _ _ _ _ _

I'm either hyphenating or keeping my last name as my middle name though I've heard there are some problems doing this in NY. I don't mind being introduced Mr & Mrs John Smith, but I'm not sure if that's what we're going to do.

I am leaning towards hyphenating my name, but I've actually been almost stressed about how we'd be introduced at the reception (luckily at this time there aren't any serious things on my mind really! )

My FH last name is really bad so I don't know what to do just yet. I think I am going to have the DJ announce us as Eric and Elana

I'm keeping my name, and I think they'll just say 'for the first time as husband and wife, Peter and Laura'.

Re: is anyone not taking FH's name completely?
i've been stressing about this too... i'm thinking of keeping my present last name as my new middle name and taking FH's name as my last name. but i'm not sure. part of me wants to keep my last name professionally in honor of my dad, who wanted me to be a doctor so badly but isn't alive to see me graduate from med school... but in the long run, i feel like it might be wierd for our children to have parents with different last names.
as far as being introduced by the band, i think we will probably just go with our first names.

Re: is anyone not taking FH's name completely?
I will be taking his name for almost everything, except for professional purposes, although that will be confusing as well. My last name is one syllable and easier to pronounce, whereas his is not a wholly uncommon name, but the spelling is different and it confuses the hell out of people.
For the wedding, we will probably be introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Jann X or just Adam and Jann X.
I'm going to run into problems at work because I'm changing my name on my SS, so my paychecks will have my married name, my health insurance, my life insurance, etc., all through my work, will have my married name, but all of my clients will be referring to me with my maiden name, as will everyone else in the office.

I'm not taking FH's name, thought there was some speculative talk about hyphenating.
